England tour of India (5 Tests)

To be fair to him Impact was umpires call so atleast review not lost.

He was a bit lucky since that would have been the best case scenario with that review.

Jaiswal is rapidly becoming a scary prospect. Can’t wait to see how he performs down under at the end of this year.

Looks like Jadeja is our incumbent number five henceforth.

This Bashir selection may end up being one of the greatest selections of all-time.

It’s either gonna be a glorious counterattack by these two or a collapse now

We’re still trailing by over two hundred runs and the pitch is getting increasingly difficult to bat on. Don’t forget that we also bat last.

I think this test is doomed.

There’s an equal, if not more chance of a player losing form over a longer series owing to the opposition getting used to them or fatigue. One of the biggest criticisms I’ve seen levied at Kane Williamson’s record is that he benefits from this.
Is there really a bigger chance of that happening? I'd say a batter is more likely to revert to his mean and make runs again over 5 Tests

++ I am excited about Sarfaraz Khan too in Australia rather than in England / New Zealand

I do think there’s a bigger chance of that happening but I’m afraid I don’t have the numbers on hand to back that up with player examples.

It varies per the player and there's plenty of factors that contribute.

I wouldn't be surprised that Warner is lower in the 4th and 5th match because he played half those matches in India and England where he has very poor records. Likewise Kohli has played 4 '5th tests' and 3 were in England. Rahane 2, both at The Oval.

Smith has played four '5th tests' at The Oval where he averages 84.
