England tour of South Africa 09/10

That Amla catch was great. Rivals some of the great short leg reflex catches, like Jimmy Adams in Trinidad in 95- Taylor smacked it and it just stuck, Blewett and Crawley in the 97 Ashes, Boon v India in 91/92 at the SCG off Azhar - that one was amazing.

FFS. Pietersen's lack of form is really starting to get annoying now. Not looked remotely convincing at the crease for a long time. Terrible shot today.

KP has looked terrible this series, pitch not causing the dismissals, just like the SCG 1st day- bad batting. Actually conditions are similar to the Aus test last year at Joburg, swinging and green, Ponting showed his true class and along with Clarke saved Australia on Day 1.

I didn't realise until today but Pietersen is now averaging 48.6 with the bat, last time I saw it I'm sure it was around 52? Sure is going through a rough patch at the moment.

This series has really damaged the average, was still averaging over 50 until Lords of the Ashes iirc. His average has dropped by over a run in this series, not good. Really needs to find some form.

No ball, take that Morkel!! To the naked eye i thought it pitched outside leg, but out all the same.

WHAT??? That was a no ball. Gotta love Strauss giving the not out gesture!

Hm, out. Perhaps he dragged his foot...Broad just shed a tear.

AHAHA STRAUSS YOU SMUG flip, NOT OUT MY ARSE (Y)

Time for Ian Balls...with that frozen screen of the side-on view, you can see a bit of the shoe behind the line.

Loving the start that the Saffas have made here, England are really going to need to fight now to post a decent score.

5 quicky, no spinner. Even though i am a spinner (wannabe) i admire this. I would love to have all fast bowling attack.

England will still find a way to draw this Test ;)

LOL so annoying how they pull it off every time!

Who would have though by the end of the series we would be needing our second most reliable man, Ian Bell, to save us? ;)

Me. Been telling everyone that Bell's a class act for years. Just a shame he's only started showing that in the last 5 Test matches :p

McLaren bowled more overs than any of the other seamers, who'd have thought it?

King Pietersen added 2 Minutes and 56 Seconds later...

McLaren gets a wicket, and a big one. Another England batsman throws his wicket away. 115/5, man we're screwed. This looks like a 320 pitch.

I don't like it, it's inefficient and illogical. Either the pitch seams enough for 2 or 3 pacemen to charge through and take all the wickets, or it doesn't and you get caught out with no variety. Obviously, Kallis gets picked no matter what, but one of these guys is going to prove unnecessary.
