England tour of South Africa 09/10

never thought of it that way. just thought of the fact having bowlers like DS, Mitch, Roach, Ameer, Anderson/Asif/Gul all in my bowling card :D

kinda kool

Early to mid 80's. Reminds me of Tim Bresnan (should have been the comparison I used yesterday, not Luke Wright), only really effective when conditions are perfect for swing bowling. Is bowling well after lunch though, getting abit of movement, and making the batsmen play alot more.

McLaren has shifted gears after the break, the lunch has really fueled him up. He needs to fine tune the acceleration he gets when he reaches the bowling crease though.

TumTum added 2 Minutes and 37 Seconds later...

All in all, he is clocking some impressive speeds.

140/7. Terrible batting, this is a 300 pitch I'd say. Just gotta hope we bowl bloody well now, SA have a long batting line-up as well. All in all, we're screwed.

Expecting a five-fer for either Dale Steyn or Morkel and England to be bowled out before 200.

If Broad did what Kallis just did with that send off, it would be all over the papers......

I hope we skittle them out cheaply. This game is gonna get boring quick if we don't get a flurry of wickets.:p

180 all out...very impressive from the guys, despite the helpful conditions you still have to bowl well. So happy that England are batting first, when I woke up this morning the last thing I wanted to see was us bat - mostly because that would mean in order for us to win we would have to get England out in the forth innings again.

Have a feeling Smith wouldve bowled first anyway to avoid that exact scenario. Now hopefully we can build a big lead...around 100 would be very good I think, and then England cant be saved by time / or running out of overs again which were their saving grace through the majority of this series.

If we can keep cool heads and not get pinned down by Anderson / Sidebottom first up, then we should be in a winning position by day 3.

Bowled out in 50 overs having chosen to bat is embarrassingly bad. Isn't that the FIRST time Strauss has won the toss and batted?!? I guess there was some logic given the two times we chose to bowl we hung on just about for a draw, but isn't the saying "win the toss, think about bowling then bat" ? That said if you throw your wickets away then what do you expect but to lose? That could be the series win squandered just like that and bye bye day five. What odds England either get the saffers 100/4 and look right back in it before conceding 200+ for the last six wickets?

Bell made a fight of it, as do the usual two fighters in Collingwood and Swann, but what did the likes of Strauss, Cook, Trott, KP and Prior do?!? 47 runs between them which is what Collingwood top scored with. Any "icing on the cake" remarks for any of them..........................?!?!? (slaggers) Serious lack of partnerships, 76 runs between Collingwood and Bell, 104 runs between the remaining nine wicket partnerships.

Could someone on TMS please ask Michael Yawn if he still thinks we'll need five bowlers for the Ashes tour....................................... The way we've fallen apart at times I reckon we should be considering seven batsmen

So what next folks? 180 run opening stand for the saffers? Innings defeat? Someone who would know about the weather in SA did talk about their wonderful thunderstorms to interrupt me typing this mid post

Just checked the weather and its looking annoying. Thunderstorms all the way through the test with rain on day 4 and 5. Wouldnt it just be the icing on the cake if we once again get in a winning position and then the weather balls it up for us. A possible 3-1 series win turned into a 1-0 loss....would be vicious.

Good bowling from the SA boys. Morkel and Steyn were impressive. McClaren did ok and kallis was steady. Parnel didn't bowl that well but 3 overs is way too little to judge.

Need to bat well and then we have a great chance to level the series.

Parnell is so overrated, he's ████ FFS. The only bowler Colly and Bell settled to, waste of a selection imo
