English Cricket

In 2005, the whole World witnessed history in the making as England recaptured the Ashes and they really deserved it. Jubilation and celebrations were with England.

In late 2006, England went "Down Under" as the mighty Australians wanted to recapture their glory. From the jubilations in 2005 came despair as England compelled a humiliating whitewash. A consolation came when England won the Commonwealth Bank Series.

Things did not get better. Their poor performance in the World Cup continued as they were knocked out in the Super Eights. In the aftermath of the World Cup, former England coach Duncan Fletcher called it quits after spending nearly 5 years with England.

Peter Moores has had a profound effect on England during the last 12 months

A comprehensive ODI Series win against South Africa boosted Morales however..

In September of 2008, the England camp was personally invited by Sir Allan Stanford for a $20 Million match. However, once again England chocked as they were crushed by the Stanford Superstars.

Now is the beginning of a new season. England will want to start off with a win but in their way lies a strong Indian squad....and a tough tour ahead.

Once again Sky Sports are very happy to announce that they will be showing all of England's matches this Summer. It was close with Channel 9, ESPN and Ten Sports all in with a chance. In the end, Sky Sports won it for the 4th time in a row.

The Natwest Series

England will be looking very confident after their 2-0 win against the New Zealanders. Monty Panesar bowled brilliantly throughout the series taking 14 wickets. For the Kiwis, Ross Taylor scored 421 runs @ 63.1 in the series.
