England strike early
(Sidebottom picks up Sinclair)

After a 10 minute interval, the England fielders and the Kiwi openers stepped out into the middle. Peter Moores had sat the England boys down in the pavilion and explained to them that they had to pick up early wickets. It didn't take long for England to get the breakthrough.

Opening the batting for the Kiwis was Matthew Sinclair and Ross Taylor. James Anderson opened the bowling from the Pavilion end. From the first over it was going to be difficult for the Kiwis to the ball to the boundary.

The pitch was playing up on the Kiwis. There was uneven bounce and plenty of swing on and off the pitch. Sinclair crashed two boundaries in sucession to break the pressure. However, he tried it again but it was third time lucky for Sidebottom. Sinclair was taking advantage of the Powerplay overs. He tried to heave one over fine-leg but the lateral swing off the pitch proved too much and he was cleaned up.

The new batsmen arriving to the crease was Scott Styris. He could prove deadly if he gets settled in. The pressure is really mounting up on the Kiwis.

New Zealand :- 17/1 (5)
*R.Taylor 5(15)
*S.Styris 0(0)

Where'd you be without me? ;)

New Zealand have a bad start but a good start for you and England, let's just hope you can continue this. Good luck mate, fantastic Presentation. :)

Good start from England, for the current state of New Zealand .......... lol this not even good even in test :p nice story and great presentation Arslaan :)

Rubbish by New Zealand. 17 off 5 in a T20  Unheard of! No matter what the pitch, going at 3.4 an over is shocking. Very hard from here on in...

It could go either way. Both batsmen are able to score quickly.

Great start for England...But still it is a T@0 match so i can go either way...

Great Presentation and story :clap

Why the heck would new Zealand open with Taylor and Sinclair lol?
Awesome presentation and detail mate.

Kiwis in deep trouble
(Lose two more wickets)

After Sinclair departed, the pressure was on Ross Taylor and Scott Styris to up the run rate and not lose more wickets whilst doing it. Sidebottom started his 3rd over. Taylor picked up a full length and smashed it all the way for 6. However, Sidebottom got the better of Taylor next ball. He attempted the same shot on a fuller length. With the help of a bit of late swing Taylor was decieved as the ball hit the stumps. Sidebottom had the last laugh as not the Kiwis were in a spot of bother at 24/2.

Next batsmen in was Peter Fulton who had not been selected for the Test Series. This could be his chance to shine and get a place in the following ODI Series. Sadly for him today was not his day.

Fulton casually left the first ball which was wide of off-stump. The following ball Fulton lost grip of his bat and skied the ball in the air. Mascarenhas, Broad and Collingwood were looking directly at the skies. Captain Collingwood called for the catch and took it with ease. Now the Kiwis were in deseray at 24/3 in 6 overs. It would take something special to win it from here.

4 overs passed as the Kiwis added 5 runs to their low total. Scott Styris and Jesse Ryder are at the crease and are most certainly feeling the pressure.

New Zealand :- 29/3 (10)
*S.Styris 3(16)
*J.Ryder 2(10)

Last Wickets
R.Taylor b R.Sidebottom 11(17) 1 Six
