Oh Sad. I thought England would win this one. Looks like they might not!

Fantastic game for South Africa!

Trescothick gets to his half century!

Match update- Trescothick passes 50 as England pile up 110-2 after 20 overs.

England 110-2 (20 Overs)
M. Trescothick 66*(68) M. Ntini 2-38
A. Strauss 12*(21)

England need another 214 runs to win from 30 overs
(Reqd. RR- 7.13, Current RR - 5.50)

Ian Botham: Well England have scored 110-2 after 20 overs, still needing another 214 runs to win from the remaining 30 overs. Its not tough, its very tough. And lets face it only once in a about a hundred times do you successfully chase targets as huge as the one England are facing today. So if they do manage to get there, It will be nothing less than a miracle.

Paul Allot: Yes Ian. Its very difficult, though I must say they are in a pretty decent position at the moment. Despite losing two wickets, they have got the run rate upto 5.5 which is a good thing. Also England still continue to find boundaries regularly. But despite all this, South Africa remain as clear favourites in this match.

Ian Botham: One more Paul that bothers me is the fact that Smith hasnt given Hall the ball yet. This despite Hall picking up wickets at crucial moments in the last two games. I dont understand the logic behind that.

Paul Allot: Yes, and he has continued to carry on with Kallis despite the allrounder not being much effective. But I am sure Hall will be given the ball very soon.

Ian Botham: I hope so Paul. England also did get an extra life when Trescothick was given not out by the third umpire, despite replays clearly showing that his bat was in the air. School boy error on Trescothick's part, but whats wrong with the third umpire?

Paul Allot: Cant say anything about that. I can understand the field umpires making mistakes, but the third umpire getting it wrong despite having such clear images, and the latest technology, is really strange. Anyways, maybe England can make maximum use of this as Trescothick is looking very good at the moment.

Ian Botham: We will take a short break now as drinks come on the field, 5 overs later than usual.

Yup. A win here looks highly unlikely, though I must say I am always confident.

Another wicket falls, Strauss is gone!

Match update- Jacques Kallis has dismissed Andrew Strauss, as England reach 134-3 after 24 overs.

England 134-3 (24 Overs)
M. Trescothick 73*(74) M. Ntini 2-38
K. Pieterson 5*(5) J. Kallis 1-48
A. Strauss 24(34)

England need another 190 runs to win from 26 overs
(Reqd. RR- 7.31, Current RR- 5.58)

Ian Botham: Well Paul, another England wicket falls. I have to say that while Trescothick piles up the runs at one end, wickets seem to fall at regular intervals at the other end. Strauss, like Vaughan was looking good but gets dismissed in the 20s again.

Paul Allot: Yes Ian, another blow for England, again when things were improving for the visitors. But a good ball by Kallis, who is not having the best of times bowling here.

Ian Botham: Yes its a very good ball indeed. Short of length, but a good line, deceived Strauss who was probably a bit worried about the increasing required run rate.

Paul Allot: So Kallis gets the breakthrough for South Africa, as this match takes another twist. Andrew Hall now is getting ready to start his third over.

Well done SA, ENG should lift their game a bit though

Its not over yet. I predict England to come very close to South Africa's total.

Hey vaughan, do you have Flintoff still to come? I guess he can make a difference here if he is in the team!!

No Flintoff. He is back in England having a surgery done on his ankle.

Oops. That might make the job more difficult for England.

Waiting for updates Sir. This match can go down close!!

England up the tempo, but lose Trescothick in the process!

Match update- England up their scoring rate after Pieterson and Tresocthick both hit sixes in consecutive overs. But South Africa strike back by dismissing Trescothick on 89.

England 175-4 (29 Overs)
K. Pieterson 30*(22) M. Ntini 2-38
P. Collingwood 0*(0) N. Boje 1-19
M. Trescothick 89(87) J. Kallis 1-62

England need another 149 runs to win from 21 overs
(Reqd. RR- 7.1, Current RR- 6.03)

Ian Botham: England really were playing well before this wicket fell scoring 41 runs in the last 5 overs, and it was actually looking like England might actually score a sensational win in this match. But there is always a risk involved when you are trying for the big shots, and that was exactly why Trescothick lost his wicket. A good catch by Shaun Pollock in the deep, as Nicky Boje picks up his first wicket.

Collingwood gone!

Match update- Justin Kemp dismisses Paul Collingwood.

England 180-5 (30 Overs)
K. Pieterson 31*(23) M. Ntini 2-38
G. Jones 0*(0) N. Boje 1-19
P. Collingwood 4(5) J. Kemp 1-13

England need another 144 runs to win from 20 overs
(Reqd. RR- 7.20, Current RR- 6.00)

David Gower: A shocker of a decision there by umpire Steve Bucknor to give Collingwood out. As we can see in the replay the ball was clearly missing leg stump. How costly could that mistake prove to be?

David Lyold: Very costly for England. This decision could well be the deciding factor of this match, and maybe even the series. England now just have Jones as a proper batsman. Giles, and Wharf are capable of batting, but they arent specialist batsmen.

David Gower: Well all the England and Barmy Army fans seem really disappointed now. Things were looking good for England, but two quick wickets have changed things back in favour of South Africa again.

Match summary after 40 overs

Match update- Geraint Jones has been dismissed by Nicky Boje.

England 238-6 (40 Overs)
K. Pieterson 60*(52) M. Ntini 2-38
A. Giles 0*(4) N. Boje 2-48
G. Jones 29(27)

England need 86 runs to win from 10 overs
(Reqd. RR- 8.60, Current RR- 5.95)

Michael Holding: Well another England batsman dismissed in the 20s. Geraint Jones played some really good shots, but I guess he can only blame himself for that decision.

Bob Willis: Yes Michael. Cant disagree with you there. England now have their tail exposed, but the likes of Giles and Wharf are capable of hitting fours and sixes, so I wouldnt write them off just as yet.

Michael Holding: Absolutely Bob. We have an exciting 10 overs remaining, and anything can happen. South Africa have the upper hand, but England are not of out of it just as yet.

Bob Willis: Certainly Michael. England have Pieterson in the middle, who has really played superbly today. I think its important that he stays there right till the end, if England do want to win this match.
