Flintoff goes on the attack...

Andrew Flintoff carried on the onslaught against the West Indies at Lords, after Stuart Broad had made his first ever test runs, with a clip off his legs to fine leg. Then Flintoff, decided it was time to hit another six and he did belting a Corey Collymore delivery over the ropes in to the third tier of the grandstand!

...But then Collymore gets his 5 wicket haul

Just as Flintoff was really getting to motor, Corey Collymore got his prized wicket. He tried slogging another one over square leg, but could only pick out Jerome Taylor in the field, who took a simple catch. He left the crease for 37 and as he was the last recognised batsman, left England's tail mightly exposed. With the innings, he kept up his record of being the best England batsman in the series so far with scores of 54, 55 and 37 in his three innings so far. The wicket, made Collymore's figures strech to a fantastic 5-59 and it was his 5th 5-wicket haul in Test Matches. With England on 195/7, Steve Harmison joined Stuart Broad at the crease.

England 195/7 (40 Overs)

Broad 4 (10)
Harmison 4 (4)

The tail frustrates West Indies

With the tail exposed, and Broad and Harmison at the crease, West Indies were looking to wrap the innings up quickly. Broad looked nervous at first on test debut, as he survived a stonedead LBW appeal and his edge behind was dropped by first slip. However, as Harmison hit two leg-side boundaries, both batsmen started to get used to the pitch conditions. Careless overthrows from West Indian fielders did not help the touring side's cause.

Broad boundaries bring up 50 partnership

With the West Indians getting worried, Broad and Harmison were growing in confidence and growing towards the 50 partnership. However, Broad had even more luck as he hit a Collymore delivery straight in the air to square-leg who took the catch. The West Indies celebrated, until they saw the umpire had his arm out, signalling a no-ball. Then Broad hit two fantastic boundaries and these brought up the 50 partnership. The West Indies were starting to lack Dave Mohammed's left-arm spinners in the team.

England 251/7

Broad 31 (33)
Harmison 28 (17)

Broad gets run out!

After the 50 partnership was brought up, Broad decided to attack Ian Bradshaw, he did as he cut the pacer for 4 over point. Then Steve Harmison decided to attack and he hit the same bowler over square leg for a massive 6. England's tail were getting their side into a decent position on a green strip. And England were going along at over 5 an over. However, a moment of madness cost Broad his wicket as, Harmison called for two, but Broad was slow in responding and by the time he did so, keeper Ramdin had taken the bails off. Broad was out for 37 from 40 balls and him and Harmison had shared a valuable 72 run partnership. Next man in with the score on 267/8, was the fans cult hero, Monty Panesar!

Harmison is dismissed by Bradshaw

With only 2 more runs added since Stuart Broad had left the crease, those coming from the bat of Monty Panesar, Steve Harmison was dismissed. He tried to hit another six, but could only manage to sky it to Jerome Taylor who was waiting at square leg. With England on 269/9, Jimmy Anderson came to the crease and the West Indies looked to finish the innings quickly. Harmison was the 3rd England player to be dismissed for 37 and the 4th to be dismissed in the thirties. It was Bradshaw's 1st dismissal of the match.

England 270/9

Panesar 2 (2)
Anderson 1 (2)
