Story England's Internationals - England v WI - England win series 2-0

Its going like a ODI.. WI are now gettng worse than Zim :( Like to see Windies getting 3-4 quick wickets in next session's first hour.

Cook brings up hundred in exciting fashion

Alastair Cook reached his 5th test century at Old Trafford, from 92 balls, hitting 6 fours and an incredible 7 sixes. He hooked Corey Collymore for six twice in two balls, before sweeping Dave Mohammed for four to bring up his ton. Cook celebrated with his captain and waved towards the England balcony.

Captain Vaughan follows suit not long after

After Cook got his century, he went on the attack against Dave Mohammed. However, after that brief spell followed a short spell of the runs drying up. Michael Vaughan then reached his hundred with a flick down to fine leg for a single. It had been a long time since Vaughan's last international century, at the same ground in the Ashes 2005 and the relief was clear to all to his on his face as he jumped for joy. His hundred came off 122 balls and included 10 fours and 4 sixes. At the moment Vaughan got his hundred, England's fantastic 2nd wicket partnership moved to an unbeaten 241.

Cook gets out after a swashbuckling innings

The delivery after Michael Vaughan got to his hundred, Alastair Cook's brilliant innings came to an end. He flicked a ball off his legs in the air but could only hit it straight to Jerome Taylor at square leg. Cook equaled his test best with 127 off 129 balls, hitting 8 fours and 8 sixes. It was Fidel Edwards' second wicket of the innings. Cook and Vaughan shared a long and aggressive 241 run partnership. As if things weren't bad enough for the West Indies, the new man in was Kevin Pietersen with England on an imposing 260/2.

England 260/2 (45 Overs)

Vaughan 100 (122)
Pietersen 0 (2)

241 runs partnership  It seems, Lara too can hit another 400 looking at the batting surface :p Nice presentation as always Phil :clap

Nice pres, wonder where you got the hotspot idea from though ;) Looking good for England here, in a demanding position and with KP now in expect another colossal partnership, 600 on the cards for England ;P

Tea is called with Vaughan and KP firing

Michael Vaughan and Kevin Pietersen had time to put on an unbeaten partnership of 73 before the umpires called for Tea at Old Trafford, with England dominant on 333/2. Vaughan was close to getting to 150 as he was on 142 not out from 158 deliveries, while Pietersen was on 30 not out from 32 balls. All the West Indian bowlers had been expensive and on a pitch that was so suited to batting, the West Indies needed to take more use of the overhead conditions. Dave Mohammed had been indefinitely targeted by the England batsman after his wickets earlier in the series at Trent Bridge. In the first two sessions, he had gone for 0-129 from his 17 overs.

England 333/2 (56 Overs)

Vaughan 142 (158)
Pietersen 30 (32)

Wow Vaughans playing amazingly! he loves old trafford for big 100's! England well on top here, that score is amazing for an ODI,they must be going at over 6 an over
