Story England's Internationals - England v WI - England win series 2-0

Could go either way this one. I'm backing England's bowlers to put in a terrific performance to gift the West Indies victory.

this will be close, monty isn't bowling to badly though he could improve

Sarwan 50 quickly follows 100 partnership

Soon after the 100 partnership between Ramnaresh Sarwan and Dwayne Bravo was brought up on the 4th morning, so was Sarwan's 50. He got onto his half-century with a flat six over mid-wicket. The West Indians in the crowd all stood up and everyone in the ground gave the batsman a massive round of applause. Michael Vaughan started to fret that a taregt of 378 may not be enough.

Harmison grabs crucial wicket

Whenever a world class side are in trouble, they always need someone to get them out of it. This time was the fast bowling of Steve Harmison. Bravo, who had looked so good, hooked a short ball but got it horribly wrong and it went miles into the air and to the waiting Kevin Pietersen at mid-on. The whole England team were jubilant. Bravo exited the arena for 66 from 82 balls, scoring 10 fours and 3 sixes and a 137 run partnership had come to an end. Now it was down to wicket keeper Ramdin to come in and support Sarwan.

West Indies pay price for attacking

Denesh Ramdin came out to bat with one thing on his mind, runs and runs quickly. He certainly got off to a fantastic start, hitting 33 from 16 balls before he was deceived by Steve Harmison when trying to hit another six. The yorker uprooted his leg stump and left West Indies with a lot to think about at 312/6, needing 66 more for victory.

West Indies 317/6

Sarwan 82 (112)
Mohammed 5 (4)

West Indies require 61 runs to win

this will be very close, england need wickets and fast, especially the one of sarwan

nice work phil, very exciting stuff.. keep it up.. cheers

This a close game :) Sarwan need to stay there and England need the vital wicket to take a more closer step towards victory

England in driving seat after 4th Harmy wicket

With 61 still needed, Mohammed came out and decided to attack Panesar, and he did as he hit him straight back over the bowler's head for 6. Harmison got revenge for his team mate in the next over though as he bowled a fast inswinging yorker. Mohammed slogged this ball but could only sky it to Ian Bell who was waiting at point.

99 and out!

Never has a man deserved century so much as Ramnaresh Sarwan did. In the two previous balls he'd moved from 87 to 99 with 2 consecutive sixes from Monty, but the big man got his revenge. Bowling around the wicket, he fired in a ball on leg stump, it turned just enough to hit the stumps and ended Sarwan's wonderful innings on 99 from 120. The innings featured 6 sixes. This meant that the West Indies were 340/8 needing 38 more runs to win.

LBW Appeal turned down

The West Indies tail enders started getting after the England bowlers and Jerome Taylor hit Steve Harmison for 6. So England needed a breakthrough. Andrew Flintoff was brought on and bowled a yorker at Taylor, surely the umpire's decision was easy, it had to be out. He thought otherwise and decided to give it not out. This left the West Indies at 358/8 and needing 20 more for victory.

Flintoff gets massive wicket

2 overs after the LBW appeal was turned down, Flintoff finally got Taylor to end his 26 ball stay at the crease. The score hadn't moved since the LBW appeal had been turned down. Flintoff bowled a yorker at Jerome Taylor who tried to straight drive, but had to look back at his stumps in a mess. Fidel Edwards arrived at the crease with the West Indies needing 20 more to win at 358/9.

England 348

West Indies 156
England 185

West Indies 359/9

West Indies require 19 runs to win
England require 1 wicket to win

P.S. If anyone knows what game Flintoff and Read are playing in the bottom picture, I would like to know.

That wicket(or not) was plum! England should win from here. Bring Monty on now and get him to flight a few,

If Sarwan have stayed at the crease, Windies should have made it.. but i really doubt if they can do it.. I still want to see Windies victory but I some how feel, England wud make it ;)

this will be close, canr' england although they should win from here

England take series lead after nail biting finish

England have gone 1-0 up in the Npower Test Series against West Indies after a nailbiting 14 run victory against their opposition on the 4th morning at Trent Bridge. Needing 19 to win, Fidel Edwards hit a boundary off Andrew Flintoff through the covers to move the target down to just 15 more needed. However, Flintoff had other ideas, and when he bowled a bouncer to Edwards, the tail ender could only hook it straight to Monty Panesar at mid-on. This sparked scenes of jublilation from the England fielders and the crowds in the stands, while the West Indian team on the balcony looked deflated after missing out on a win in such a close finish. Steve Harmison finished 1 short of a 10 wicket haul, taking 5 in the first innings and 4 in the second.
