England got a good total on the board thanks to Pietersen

England have finally done it this time as they got a good total on the board and it may well turn out to be a winning total .England scored 273 in their alloted 50 overs by losing 9 wickets and were really lucky to play the 50 overs as M.Panesar survied for 4 overs in which he faced just 6 balls as most of the strike was taken by Pietersen. Kevin Pietersen ...England's hero scored a magnificant 154 off just 132 balls with 10 fours and 7 massive sixes and remained unbeaten till the end.

Chris Read gave a good support to Kevin Pietersen and joined 43 runs partnership for the 6th wicket by then Chris Read was trapped LBW by a quicker delivery of Munaf Patel. Munaf patel took his 2nd wicket of the match and now England's tail was exposed. Sajud Mahmood was the next man in and still there were 10 overs remaining in the innings and England needed him to stay till the end and support Pietersen. But Ajit Agarkar shattered England's hope as Sajid Mahmood nicked an outswinger of Agarkar and Sehwag made no mistakes with the catch .

N.Sidhu :On Read's wicket:Thats superb bowling by Munaf Patel getting Chris Read in two minds but the speed of the bowl gave him no time to think and he was plum in front.
On S.Mahmood's Wicket:That was certainly good bowling and foolish batting ...Agarkar bowled a typical outswinger and Mahmood chased it and the end result was a thick edge to V.Sehwag in the slips.

England's tail was totally exposed and all Indians needed was to pick up 3 wickets and bowl England out . Pietersen was batting nicely and was looking to take most of the strike while Harmison was just trying to place the ball in the infield and run for a quick single. This trick worked for just 2 balls as Rahul Dravid changed the field and got Raina and Kaif in the infield and were charging in for catch . Harmison again placed on of the offside and went for a quick single again but this time Kaif was even quicker than Harmison and he threw at the stumps in a bink of an eye and got a direct hit to see Harmison walking back to the pavilion. J.Lewis came in survied for a few balls but then he went for a slog sweep and managed to get a top edge and giving a simple catch to Dravid.

G.Boycott:Oh No England are losing quick wickets now and now they have lost 9 wickets and still 4 overs to go in the innings . Indians are very good in the field , specially Kaif who got two brilliant run outs .

9 Wickets Down:

M.Panesar was the enxt man in and K.Pietersen wanted him to survive till the end . He played on himself and kept Panesar off strike on most of the deliveries. When the opportunity was there Panesar went for his shots but managed to pick up 1'2 and 2's only but the impostrant part was that he was preserving his wicket . Pietersen blasted in the in end and reached his 150 in great fassion . This was one of the best innings and he remained unbeaten on 154 off just 132 balls with 10 fours and 7 massive Sixes. England played their 50 overs and scored 273 runs by losing wickets . England are in a comanding position in the match but don't forget that this track is good to bat on and Bangladesh had also shown good fightback on this track.

KP has done well!

But Sachin has to do his job now ;) Come on India.. :happy

England with a good start as Lewis gets 2 wickets in 2 overs

Indians certainly looked in some sort of pressure while the came into bat chasing a huge target posted by England of 274.Harmison bowled the 1st over and certainly got an edge of Sachin Tendukars bat but it was well wide of the slips but then Sachin Tendulkar played a backfoot boundary which was perhaps the best timing in the world.India got of to a good start with 7 runs in the 1st over but then things changed dramatically as J.Lewis shared the new ball with Harmison and straight away got in the wickets column.

Virender Sehwag who was not in his best of forms and hardly scored over 20 runs in his last 10 innings was on strike and was facing the bowling of J.Lewis who certainly meant business right from the word go.He bowled a good length ball to Sehwag and invited him from the drive .Sehwag went for the drive but the ball moved away from the batsman after pitching and Sehwag managed to get a healty edge of the bat and Chris Read took a magnificant catch perhaps the best catch of the series behind the stumps.Sehwag walked back with his head down and there was complete silence in the stadium. Everyone was surprised to see Indian coach Greg Chapell still experimenting with the number 3 position and again sending Irfan Pathan to bat. England were certainly not going to waste this opportunity and Flintoff got a tight field for Pathan and everyone was close to the bat.J.Lewis in his next over bowled a similar delivery to Pathan as he bowled to Sehwag and this time Pathan went for the cover drive but the extra bounce did the trick and the ball was in the air for a moment but Monty Panesar pulled out a stunning catch diving forward and holding the ball till the last minute. That was a great catch and Indian are really in trouble after losing 2 wickets in 4 overs and Sachin was looking in good touch but anything can change now as England are on top.

N.Sidhu :Thats superb bowling for J.Lewis certainly England are on top now and Indians are in trouble now.Sehwag played a stupid shot went for a drive for an outswinger and Pathan was sent at number 3 which was not at all a good decision when the team is chasing a huge total. But one thing which worries me a lot is thatIndian team is like bicycles in the stand ....when one fall, all fall together.

I think Sidhu is talking about the team when he has played(Azhar's period)! :D lol Current Team's main strength is in middle & lower order which wont fall that easily :p ;)

Great catch by Panesar. You can tell Cricket 05 isn't a realistic game :p
