England's tour of India - 2021

Missing Shami big time here! Bumrah is very good at bringing it in and challenging the pads and stumps but because he doesn't have the other one when it reverses, it gets predictable.
And Jadeja as well he bowls relentlessly on such tracks overs after overs sticking to a constant Line & length.

Good luck trying to get Joe Root out twice on this track! :lol

The kind of nick he's in, once will suffice.

This is a Typical Indian test match wicket (Similar to wickets we had against England last time in 2016 not like the rank turners we saw in 2015 Season) - flat & slow will see the spinners get into the act on the 4th & 5th day.

England If I remember correctly batted first 4 times in that 2016 series and score 400 runs each time they played but still ended up losing those matches.

I think we can call them slow compared to SENA tracks but this track is too slow even for an Indian wicket!

100 for Root in his 100th Test match.

Some player this guy!:p

I don't see anything in this lifeless track. The bowlers are getting no help whatsoever and the batsmen though not in a dominating fashion have kept on accumulating runs. A draw on the cards over here. This match has been really boring so far.

Congrats to Joe Root on his 100 in his 100th Test match. Sibley as well looks good for a 100!!!

Rooooooooooooooot!

Jadeja is probably the biggest loss on this surface. His performance in 2016 on a similar Chennai pitch was absolutely the stuff of legends and one of the greatest spin bowling performances in history.

Guess Root took the "not converting his starts" criticism way too seriously. Not cool Joe, do that against others, not us.

@zimrahil your fingers itching mate?

Yes but you had Karun Nair then.

It's also the ball that is being used. It looked awful and simply isn't a test standard ball!

The first ball looked like a dog had had it by about the 45th over. I don't understand why the whole cricketing world doesn't just use the same ball.

Yeah but he was there only in the Chennai Test match & Kohli was at its batting Peak in the remainder of the series.

Fun fact - KL Rahul scored 199 in that last chennai test but no one remembers that.
