The Wall has fallen.
Guess Root took the "not converting his starts" criticism way too seriously. Not cool Joe, do that against others, not us.
@zimrahil your fingers itching mate?
Did it hurt writing that last postPity! Sibley deserved that century. A Pujara-esque innings. Would have loved to have seen the back of Root though. He looks set for another double. I guess anything < 400 would make India happy after this 200-run partnership. Day 1 belonged to England. Looking forward to Day 2.
Small price to pay to have you posting in the tour threads....you're welcome!I almost enjoy trolling you on Eng-Ind threads as much as watching the matches even when India are on top so thank you
What an innings by Dom. When we started bowling, he looked less comfortable but what grit and determination he must have shown for his 300 ball inning. Root being usual Root, what an inning from the master. Its his third consecutive century in 3 test matches if I am not wrong. England's day for sure. With Stokes and Pope still to bat, a 500 is on the cards.
To be honest, everything about this test match feels boring to me. No wonder people in India are losing interests in test matches. The atmosphere, the pitch, empty stadium, everything about it is boring. Still early days but I feel there is no life in this pitch. I am not saying produce rank turners, but produce wickets that help bowlers and not just batsman.
Again early days but if the pitch continues to be batsman paradise, I fear Ahmedabad will be worst. I want pitches where teams score 300-350, not 500 plus. Lets see how this goes.
just like our mental health!i think this is what test pitches in the sub continent usually are, very flat for 3 days and then usually goes a bit crazy!
Yes and a change needs to happen. Imagine the highs of Australian series with some amazing cricket only to come back to a snooze batting fest.i think this is what test pitches in the sub continent usually are, very flat for 3 days and then usually goes a bit crazy!
That pitch just exploded spectacularly on the curator!! Such a lifeless one. Still hope it can do something on Days 3 to 5. Even Kuldeep couldn't have done anything on that track today. Though, its terribly unfair on him that he sits and sits and sits and just doesn't seem to get the chance.
England will challenge us pretty well. They've had some really good prep for this series by playing in Sri Lanka. They're a better test side than Australia. We better brace ourselves for another bloody battle like what we experienced in Australia. This time, we're the home team and the team expected to romp through.
Root could be looking at a triple-century tomorrow. He's in the best form I've ever seen from an English batsman
