England's tour of India - 2021

AFAIK Kohli, KL Rahul will be dropped from the ODI squad or atleast the playing XI due to his disappointing performance in the T20I series. That's how great the Indian Captain is!!!!!! :clap
Oh right. ODI series is there - had forgotten. I guess, a drop is expected then

I've heard some bad commentary lines in this series but "what's heartening to see is that Rishabh is not taking the aerial route and is instead hitting it through the gaps" has to be the worst for me. It's a T20 FFS, the team that hits the most sixes usually tends to win. :facepalm

Has to be Murali Karthik.

Well I was thinking what will happen if Srikkant gets a contract from BCCI for commentary.

For sure there would be more comedy than Commentary:lol

I'm expecting it to be out on the basis of soft signal. And it would be the wrong decision. Feel gutted for SKY.

Another poor decision. Third umpire have got no idea what is happening on ground in this series.

Srikanth's commentary on Star Sports Tamil is gold.

There shouldn’t be a soft signal at all for boundary catches, as Athers is saying on Sky.
If a boundary catch is inconclusive, you give it not out.

I do not think it was inconclusive. It was very much visible that the ball had hit the ground for a second atleast. It just hit the ground and stuck into his hands. 9/10 times the decision should've been reversed.

How the hell can umpire's soft signal be considered the guidance here? The umpire is standing way away from the fielder who was involved... This is ridiculous! It did not look out at all, and yet when inconclusive, the on field umpire soft signal is given importance.

Rubbish!

I remember Iyer making tons in New Zealand at 4 in ODIs, now he’s batting at 6 in T20Is?

The funny part is that soft signal for catches just seems to be based most of the time on how players react. Malan was not very confident about that catch either.

True that! I would say that if the catch is inside the circle, the on field umpire soft signal can be used to break the tie when evidence is inconclusive. If its outside the circle, the on field umpire soft signal should not work at all.

But I would say that the third umpire should rule on all catches that are edgy.

Another player who has been mismanaged badly.

I do agree that it was a ridiculous decision. I'm just stating that the concept of soft signal as a whole is murky.

Especially when the same umpire couldn't clearly spot a six in the previous delivery and needed the third umpire. :lol

One must compliment Kohli for the fact that he removed himself from his coveted number 3 to give Kishan and SKY a chance. He's such a good bloke and his intention is always right but he's such an awful cricket brain and just impatient AF.
