This is the reason I was calling for SKY in the T20 side over Iyer. It is not like I have anything against him but SKY is someone who finds a way to score at a quicker rate and never gets bogged down with good bowling. Also he has been in a terrific form in the recently concluded Vijay Hazare Trophy so to keep him out is a big mistake.

The reason for KL Rahul's struggle in this series is Pant's rise. Now since Pant is in a terrific form he is well on course to make a comeback in the ODI team as a specialist keeper. Who is India's ODI keeper? It is KL Rahul. KL Rahul was said by our great Captain that he is our long-term option for keeper in the ODI team. Now it is foolishness of not letting Pant play as a keeper batsman after the form he is in. So this actually roots back to the time when KL Rahul was said that he would be a wicket-keeper for India. Rahul's struggle have got nothing to do with the skill set but it is his insecurity that is not letting him perform.

I don't like the way he plays in T20s these days either. Started in 2019 where he wanted to bat through the innings and right now it feels like he is another Rohit-esque player without the sheer talent of the latter to make things work. Needs to get back to his own style I'm afraid.

AFAIK Kohli, KL Rahul will be dropped from the ODI squad or atleast the playing XI due to his disappointing performance in the T20I series. That's how great the Indian Captain is!!!!!!
