England's tour of India - 2021

If India can get to a score of around 250+, it would take a monumental effort from England to turn it around. However, given that our 2 of our best batsmen are back in the pavilion England shouldn't lose hope and try to get the next 2 wickets quickly. That ought to put pressure on the lower order and there is chance India might end up getting bowled out under 175, which would limit the damage to some extent.

I think it is 2 out 3. We still have one batsman(Rahane) who is as good as the other 2 when he gets going. And then we have a different Rohit that plays in India who I believe will score another 25-30 runs. And this batting line-up of India for this match bats deep down till 9 so I don't think England have a chance yet. They need to get both Rohit & Rahane in the initial 10-15 overs or else India could easily score somewhere around 300.

pant, if fires, its curtains for eng

Anyone else was sick of the aerial shots of the stadium being showing every 5 overs, with oohs-aahs from the commentators and then shots of Amit Shah and his junior. It was alright the first 5 times, then it got really annoying.

We get it - its a massive new stadium named after our Supreme Leader.

not trying to be stereotypical or racist or anything

but there is an old indian word for this kind of act 'Pateli'

so ironic :p

England look like they've had enough now. They've been on the tour for almost 2 months. Had players flying in, flying out. Locked in hotel rooms etc

Then you get thrown into the lions den so to speak. In front of 55,000 screaming fans baying for blood, on a dustbowl barely fit to host a club game with Ashwin and Patel making you look silly. Then to add insult to injury you throw in the disgraceful umpiring of the last test and this one so far.

I wouldn't blame them for losing their rag a bit as I'm sure they're frustrated at their own performances too. It wouldn't surprise me either if Root was punished for arguing with the umpire whilst Kohli could've given the umpire a right hook and still got away with it.

They look desperate to come home to me.

Wasn't the case 1 match back when series was 1-0 in England's favor

And look what's happened since then.

Because England had the audacity to win the first test every trick in the book has come out since.

The umpires suddenly are too worried about being the officials who took charge of a home series defeat (it would probably finish them domestically) so every 50/50 call goes Indian's way now. And conveniently if it's a decision for England only one camera angle is used. Yet when Pujara caught Leach they took ages looking at it...I wonder why.

The groundsman for the first game was sacked and they got someone in who would create minefields not fit for international cricket.

Conveniently fans (home fans only) are all of a sudden pouring in to the tune of 55000.

Kohli's conduct has been a disgrace, throwing helmets onto the pitch. Swearing at England players. Getting in the face of umpires and refusing to walk when clean bowled.

England have batted particularly poorly in the last three innings but after having the audacity to win the first one all they've done is anger the Indians and as a result we've been given this complete non contest now.

You do realise that the umpire taking a long time for leach's dismissal actually benefitted england right. The soft signal was out, and he could have just sent him on his way back, but chose to go through all angles. Not questioning the criticism for the other dismissals but complaining about this is quite weird

well even though i agree with most of the above

the context in the previous post was a lot different than this

I feel like Eng will restrict the lead to less than 50 here
