Good win for us today especially the bowling of our fast bowlers won us the match tonight.
Now if we are looking at the team for next T20 world cup, I am a big believer of the thinking that your best batsmen should get to face the most devilries in t20 format. That is the reason I like the move of Virat opening the batting. However, I want someone at the other end who will go after bowlers from the 1st ball. This is where I feel the likes of Rishabh Pant and Mayank Agarwal can come in. Rohit Sharma will come back into the line-up straight away once he is fit. To have Raina at number 3 is a great move but he has seriously struggled recently. He needs to get some runs otherwise, I would rather see Pandey at this position. Pandey is a one down player where he has played for KRR he needs to be given a chance at that position especially if Raina is not doing well. Pandey is not a finisher and it is shocking that management wants to make him a finisher by giving him batting at number 5 and 6. If you need a finisher, it has to be Jadhav. I will still stick to my point of Yuvraj that I just don't see him fitting into this line-up. He has arguably been India's greatest match winner but he is not the same player anymore. He often struggles in batting, his bowling is not very impressive and his fielding is not any good as well. I love Dhoni but his batting is clearly deteriorating as well. Bowlers now can hit that outside the off stump yorkers to him which he has struggled to get away with. However, we need to stick with him just because he he has the mental strength to overcome any weakness. Nehra and Mishra are good addition for T20 team but their fielding is an issue. They both are horrible fielders. However, their bowling in this format is good enough to keep them in the line-up. It was good to see Bumrah finally delivering in this England limited over series. He has been absolutely rubbish so far in the ODI series and also the first T20. He turned it around in this game and that is good to see.
We have still some time to go for the T20 world cup and the selectors can persist with some players if they feel like they do need that experiance in the line-up but my line-up would be:
Virat Kohli
Rohit Sharma
Manish Pandey/Suresh Raina
KL Rahul/Rishabh Pant/Mayank Agarwal
MS Dhoni
Kedar Jadhav
Hardik Pandya
Ravi Ashwin
Amit Mishra/Jadeja
Jasprit Bumrah/Bhuvneshwar Kumar
Ashish Nehra/Mohammed Shami
