England's tour of India (Nov '16/Feb '17)

I am looking forward for jadhav, He was amazing in NZ series. Hopefully he will be a good pick for that Raina's role. And hope Hardik Pandya performs well. We need him fine tuned for CT.

Exactly. They both are similar. Jadeja is just an upgrade of Axar. Axar might be better with bat, but Jaddu is better in bowling and far better than Axar in fielding.

I think Axar is better than Jadeja, he needs a bit more support from the management. Axar can beat the batsmen in the air as well as bowl tidy stuff like Jadeja, he is better with the bat too. Jadeja is pretty one-dimensional and gets hammered on wickets that don't offer turn. With some experience, Axar can become a really good bowling all-rounder, he is still a bit raw at the moment, but he can certainly offer a lot more than Jadeja.

It's a cardinal sin for a spin-bowler to bowl a no-ball. How the heck can he miss the front-foot line for such a short run up. If it were up to me, I would penalize the bowler (perhaps match fee cut or 1 match suspension) on bowling no-balls in a match.

We saw Mishra do it yesterday and even Jadeja do it on a number of occasions.

Jadeja already has experience playing in all conditions and he has pretty much cemented his place. Will be difficult to replace him and I feel Axar is better only in batting aspect compared to Jaddu. No match for jaddu's fielding and is a better bowler.

For the next T20, I would bring in Bhuvaneshwar for Chahal....

Jadeja is a better fielder, but he doesn't make any meaningful contributions with the bat despite of being so experienced.

Just look at how Ashwin bowled/batted when he started off and look at him now, there is a massive improvement. Compare that to Jadeja who has made some minor improvements in his bowling here and there, but hasn't been reliable at all with the bat.

The numbers might show that he has done well with the ball in home conditions, but there are many Indian spinners who can fit in that role. The team needs someone who can offer something on all kinds of pitches. Jadeja's pace and flat trajectory make him a weak link on unhelpful surfaces.

No, he won't lol. He is a very good bowler but he won't deceive the batsmen in the air because that's just not his bowling style. He will bowl wicket to wicket and fire it in to the batsmen so it doesn't give them any chance to free their arms.

Probably the only place where I would gamble on Chahal since he has played for RCB for so many years now.

I personally don't like Jadeja... But, experience is a major factor in the CT and that is the only reason I would pick Jadeja ahead of Axar Patel.... But, after the CT, I would prefer Axar in the limited overs...

Chahal should stay for next match. He has played for RCB since so many years and he knows the pitch well. Given the fact how good of a batting pitch it is, Chahal was good in that pitch. I would bring in Bhuvi for Amit Mishra. Totally hate him for that no-ball. And Bhuvi is good with new ball and as well as in death.

I agree with the notion of bringing back Bhuvi. He is very good in T20 and hence it's surprising as to why he is not in the playing X1.

@Hydron Jadeja is from Warrior race. He's a Rajput of Saurashtra. Rajputs are aggressive and great warriors.
Can you please leave all this nonsense out? I saw what you did and it is not needed in this thread

Nope, one of his key wicket taking delivery is the slightly short of the length and quick arm ball which keeps a bit lower than expected and skids on. But he bowls a fair amount of flighted deliveries that deceive the batsmen. He is not a big turner of the ball, he would get absolutely hammered if he would bowl only wicket to wicket without pace variation.

Axar doesn't beat the batsmen in the air. There is nothing special about his bowling and he just bowls flat with the arm. Jaddu actually flights the ball more than Axar, plus he varies his pace quite well. Axar is better in the batting department but Jaddu seems to be stepping up as seen in the Test series. At some points, Axar bowls way too short. He will get absolutely smashed on the flat pitches in England otherwise.
