You don't need to be as good as Kaka to be the ultimate midfielder. I didn't say he was. I said, if he developed his passing to go with dribbling and shooting, he would be everything you needed in a midfielder.

so you're saying Kaka is better than ultimate attacking midfielder, thats just stupid. The utlimate midfielder would be the best in the world at everything, calling him "ultimate" is completely over-rating him

In an attacking midfielder, you looking for dribbling, passing and shooting. I didn't say he was the best I was saying if he developed his passing, he would be everything you looked for in an attacking midfielder.

I brought Kaka into the Carrick-Rosicky conversation as you were describing Carrick as if he was Kaka.

Now, I'm talking about what you would want in an attacking midfielder and you keep comparing him to Kaka!

What makes the ultimate midfielder then?

Rosicky doesnt have the awareness of Scholes or Kaka or another top class attacking midfielder. That awareness is natural and cannot be learned or developed much.
He wouldn't be "all I would look for in an attacking midfielder" even if he did improve his passing.

It's his first season and he has been injured quite a lot so he isn't going to set the prem alight and be the next Dennis Bergkamp straight away but he does effect games.

Being like Cristiano Ronaldo at dribbling

Being like Scholes with his positioning and awareness
Having the pace of Martins

That is the ultimate midfielder

I can find players that are better at each of those areas apart from maybe crossing.

How exactly is Rooney over-rated? He was he 2nd best striker in the premiership last year and he wasn't even played up front in most games. Sure he's not done it for England but who gives a toss about England? Carrick might be over-rated but your over-rating Rosicky so you can hardly use that to argue he's better.
