The PFA really needs to change the timing of the vote for the Player of the Year awards. Some player maybe great in the first half of the season but goes off the boil or suffers any injury in the second half the season. Nasri and Bale are the perfect example of those situations.

Bale crowned PFA Player of the Year - ESPN Soccernet

Two good performances against Inter and a hattrick at the San Siro in the Champions League and Bale is the PFA Player of the Year?! :facepalm

No surprises Jack Wilshere winning the other award.

Top two dominate PFA Team of the Year - ESPN Soccernet

Premier League Team of the Year: Van Der Sar (Man Utd), Sagna (Arsenal), Cole (Chelsea), Vidic (Man Utd), Kompany (Man City), Nani (Man Utd), Nasri (Arsenal), Wilshere (Arsenal), Bale (Tottenham), Tevez (Man City), Berbatov (Man Utd).

That one is even more of a joke! Why on earth is Sagna and Cole in the list?! :facepalm I would certainly pick Rafael and Baines ahead of those two.

Nasri, Bale and Berbatov shouldn't even be in there IMO. Nasri has gone missing for Arsenal this year. Bale was out for awhile with injuries. Berbatov has not been a consistent starter and most of his goals come in one match!

Sagna is a quiet but very consistent performer and rarely let's his team down, whereas Rafael is less consistent and due to his youthfulness makes rash tackles, leading to bookings, suspensions, etc. Nasri is still a prominent creative force and Berbatov is the top scorer in the Premier League. I fail to see the logic in not having these players in the Team of the Year.

beyond the two centre backs and van der saar there has been few consistently great performers in the premier league this year.

disappointed charlie miller never made the team of the year though. he has actually been one of the consistent ones, just not flashy enough.

"If you lose a few games some people call these silly phone-ins and say: 'They were rubbish today. They were absolutely useless' when they weren't even at the game, they were listening to it on the radio or shopping with the wife.

"I don't listen to them. I'll turn the radio on and put Magic FM on instead. I want to listen to some music. I don't want to listen to a bunch of idiots. They must have sad lives."

HAHAHAHAHAHA...such a statement is why sir Harry gotta be the next England manager. He would put the idiot media in its place..

Great match at White Hart Lane. Definitely one of the best games of the season. :thumbs

Good win against Birmingham but it was really silly of Luiz to give away a needless penalty and ruin that clean sheet! :facepalm

With the result going our way tonight, it certainly feels great to be in second place again even if it's just on goal difference. :)

And I just happen to see this on BBC Live.

Arsene Wenger said:
Arsene Wenger on questions about Arsenal's mentality: "It is very unfair, we are on a 15-game unbeaten run and no-one else has done that. This team has an outstanding attitude."

He is seriously talking rubbish! How can he be proud of that unbeaten run when they drew half of those games?! :facepalm

Ok , I better start rooting for Chelsea in this title race because Arsenal seem to have pissed me enough . Great game , Szecezny was outstanding imo despite conceding that crucial penalty . And I am yet to digest Huddlestone's goal !!

:lol Just like us, Arsenal are only 6 points behind United. But at the moment, I'm more focused on securing a Top 3 or at least a Top 4 finish. We are nearly there.

Once we have done that, then I'll see how things go. The title is still pretty much United's to lose.

6 points is only a defeat to Chelski and Arsenal. This ain't over yet.

True but I'm not getting any hopes up yet. However, it could come down to goal difference at the season IF United loses two games and both us and Arsenal win the remaining league games, then all three of us will end up with 79 points!

But as I said, I'm not getting any hopes up yet and it's still United's title to lose. I'm not sure whether Arsenal can beat United and win their remaining games considering they always implode when the going gets tough for them.

So, game by game for me...

I wonder if this trend is going to continue tomorrow...

Sun 12/09/10 PRL Birmingham City 0 - 0 Liverpool
Sun 04/04/10 PRL Birmingham City 1 - 1 Liverpool
Tue 10/11/09 PRL Liverpool 2 - 2 Birmingham City
Sat 26/04/08 PRL Birmingham City 2 - 2 Liverpool
Sat 22/09/07 PRL Liverpool 0 - 0 Birmingham City
Wed 01/02/06 PRL Liverpool 1 - 1 Birmingham City
Sat 24/09/05 PRL Birmingham City 2 - 2 Liverpool

:facepalm

Ah , that was the Steve Bruce era , that jackass somehow managed atleast a point out of us every game then . :facepalm

Only the bottom two...

Yea but then , he continued that trend at the JJB with Wigan before moving to Sunderland .
Anyways , we are expected to win this match with much comfort (can't actually believe I am trusting Liverpool after a long time :p) , and I am going for a 2-0 win .

What a way to end that 7 consecutive draws against Birmingham and of all people, Maxi Rodriguez scored a hattrick!

Also, with Spurs dropping like flies a bit at the moment, it looks like 5th place may not be far away for you guys.

FINALLY! Torres scored! A lovely goal from him and it was certainly nice to see how the celebrations went. :thumbs
