Now, that's what Utd are all about! 2-0 down at half time, after running the game, 3-2 at full time - after running the game. :D

That was a fantastic game of football. It's incredible that Man Utd always have such resilience, no matter what.

The attacking football from Utd in the 2nd half was a joy to behold. The 2nd goal was sublime. Very slick passing. The team was very young but everyone seemed look very comfortable.

The only issue was that in the 2nd half Utd looked very prone on the counter, without Carrick holding in the middle.

What a game. Halftime I didnt really see a way out, but we have shown we still our the number 1 team in Manchester (and England). Cleverley or whatever his name is, very lively in the midfield, and Nani and Young were great at the flanks. City just had no answer.

De Gea still has alot to learn but he did start showing signs of his potential in the second half.

Cleverly looks like a very good young player - Sir Alex might have done it yet again - and Young looked very sharp and lively, I think he'll be a great addition to the squad. :)

Damn, I just missed one of the best derbies owing to Somerset's cracking t20 encounter. All I learnt was my friends claiming Cleverley to be the next big thing for Utd and English football as a whole.

It was sure an entertaining game and United deserved to win anyway(as much as I hate to admit it!). City never looked like scoring despite their two goals.

The only thing that surprised me was City looking very vulnerable in their defence in the second half considering Mancini is their manager. Thought he will just keep things tight, put 10-man behind the ball and defend solidly like he has always done last season. All in all, his negativity was still pretty evident and he didn't even try bringing on Aguero to win the game. Mancini is not going to enjoy lots of success this season if he continues to be negative.

Cleverly didn't look too special in the Under 21 championship i must say, but yep early evidence suggest it could be another master-stroke young talent spotted. No wonder he seems to not be all that fussed about getting Sneijder ha..

Well he was played out wide, rather than in his usual central role, at the U-21 Euros.

I was looking forward to the first week of the Premier League, but it seems like that is not going to happen with all the riots happening. They started in London and they have extended to cities like Birmingham, Liverpool and Manchester.

Also isn't better to create an 'English Football Thread 2011/2012' thread?

That's so sad... :lol :lol :lol

And if you notice, they name their squad as United's at the side there.

Certainly hope not. Already looking forward to the first games!

Hmph. It's already affected the Carling Cup and the England vs Holland game, so I would not be at all surprised.
