Saw the last 10 minutes of extra time, barring Valencia absolutely no creativity.

True enough. Of course, this was a second string side, but I think the problem you've outlined is creeping into the first team. Come January, I think we need to unveil a real big signing. Dunno who, but the team needs a new face.

And we're pitted with Man City in the semis....
The second leg being played at Anfield happens to be the only consolation for us.

Also, that's the first time since the 2006-07 Champions League that Liverpool have gone one step further to United in any competition. :p

Fergie is sure complaining a lot about the linesman lately, isn't he? While I do agree with him that Palace's winner looked offside but to say United haven't got any luck from the linesman is a joke really. He got two offside goals against us in league in September and no seemed to be mentioning that Berbatov's equalizer against Benfica last week was offside as well.

Anyway, massive :lol at the upset!

That should be fun especially when you're gonna face City 3 times in January!

Exactly. Surprised no one really brought that up like you said. Imagine the points table then, United would have needed to win at Basel in their last matchday!

Liverpool were always going to get City, regardless of whether United won or lost, because the powers that be fancied an all-manc final and it dovetailed rather nicely with United's traditionally easy draw.

Get the City-Chelsea out of the way now and Liverpool have got an excellent chance of landing our hands on that trophy.

I'd like to know how the draw was fixed.

We already got Chelsea out of the way. :p And yeah, I'd prefer facing City over 2 legs than in the final itself. Get past them, the cup is ours. Else, it's theirs. Simple.

Really hope we can sign a finisher by then, with the first leg scheduled to take place at Jan 9. No more of Andy Carroll please.

I would like to counter that by saying that once in that game a United player was given offside in a goal scoring position. I dont remember who, but I remember it happened :p

Initially I had hoped that if Liverpool were going to face them, no offence to Cardiff or Palace, that it would be a one off game, but thinking of Chelsea is 04-05 has made me all nostalgic for a good old fashioned debunking.

Aye, Young was flagged offside when he was actually on and squared it for Berba to score a tap-in.

Just when our season looked to be heading in the right direction, our best player of the season until now in Lucas Leiva's a goner for the reminder of the season! :(

Blow for Liverpool as Lucas ruled out for the season - ESPN Soccernet

We've recalled Jonjo Shelvey from Blackpool, who was sent on loan and from what I've heard, has had an impressive stint there.

Gerrard, come back fast! :mad

Also, we so so badly need to recall Aquilani from Milan during January.
