I'm not pissed with his managerial tactics, can't blame him if his players don't find the back of the net. I'm more pissed with his summer signings and his reluctance to sign any player in the winter transfer window, when we clearly needed one quality finisher at the very least.
Screw a couple of players on the RHS, but take a look at the whole picture and see how miserable he's been on the market. But for Suarez and Bellamy, his signings have been garbage.
Hmm interesting list, agree and disagree with some.
- I'm not sure if Onuha or Dann would have been better defensive signing than Coates. Coates really hasn't played much after being signed basically on what scouts saw of him during the 2011 Copa America.
- Jones & Young possibly, but somehow i get the feeling he had their heart set of joining United.
- Arsenal or United had a better chance of getting Given, since i doubt he would go to a club to be # 2 again, which would have happened @ pool.
- Enrique was a good signing top left-back and unlucky not be Spain # 1 left-back ATM. Clichy definitely would not have gone to Liverpool. He left the gunners like the reds where in decline and because he felt they were not capable of winning big silverware, while City was the new big boys of the league.
- Adam has tailed off a lot for sure, but base on his form for Blackpool last season he seemed a good signing.
- Henderson bad singing for sure, never rated him and watching him struggled during England Under-21 campaign last summer - i thought Pool wasted money. Cabaye and Parker most certainly would been better buys.
- Mata maybe, but IIRC he had said Torres had played a big part in him going to Chelsea, so although he was certainly available - its not clear cut that he would have chosen the Reds.
- Its easy to be nostalgic and critique Carroll and hype Ba, but one year ago no one saw this coming.
Carroll performances at Newcastle seemed destined for big things this season and to some degree i think unnecessary media pressure has been placed on him, due to the inflated market, which made pool pay Newcastle more for him - than Barca pay Valencia for David Villa.
Demba Ba has simply surprised the world and in essence he was a lucky signing for Newcastle. Pretty sure Kenny wasn't the only manager whose scouts didn't pick him up.
