If we win the league, I think we've done damn well considering that a) we lost Vidic for the best part of the season (because of injury, unlike someone else who went on a four month strop back to his home land) and b) we had a keeper who was just settling into the English game and therefore made quite a few mistakes, which could yet be costly. If City didn't have Joe Hart, I reckon we'd be several points clear now. Even against Wolves, he made a few vital saves.

As could Evra's miss vs Everton. I still don't understand how that didn't end up in the net - just as I can't understand how this fixation with the goal difference blinded not only experienced players like Scholes, but also Sir Alex himself, to the fact that the damn game was playing out like a basketball match - that Everton were a real threat that day and that we should've just sat on the 3-1. Still, we're Utd. We don't believe in doing things the easy way...

Two guys that will certainly need a better club are Shaun Maloney and Steven Fletcher. Quality players in a bit unfortunate time with their club, partially excluding Wigan now that they've bounced back but their remains.

I really rate Steven Fletcher. Most teams would do well to pick him up in the summer.

You're forgetting Victor Moses. Easily Wigan's best player of late.

Having spent the entire first half of the season failing to score we've now got 8 in two games.
Nikita Jelavic take a bow.

What a turnaround for wigan.Beated united arsenal liverpool and came close to draw chelsea and now newcastle.Really they deserve to stay with lately form they are in and deserve to win all that match

Bad run-in for Newcastle with Man City, Chelsea, Everton. Hard to see them hanging onto 4th.

Second fewest.

Is it possible to get an updated version of that?

Wigan are just the relegation masters. Terrific game versus Newcastle.

I wonder how long can Arsenal make draws and losses versus lower opposition.

I don't know. I just found it on twitter. Guess Everton will be third/fourth ahead of/behind Newcastle.

Precisely what I'd predicted in the Champions League thread. I'd be astounded if they manage even 5 points from their last 3 fixtures.

What's been the key to their dramatic turnaround in fortunes? Surely it can't be just the arrival of Beausejour during the winter transfer window?

They seem to do this every season. Underperform through the first 3/4 of the season and then play out their skins in the run-in.

Holy kerplucking ----. Suarez was unkerpluckingbelievable today.

Also, Gerrard in the free role was a great decision. His best position imo.
