The league table don't lie

probably the worst cliche in football that.

38 games isn't really much of a sample size to say that with much confidence. so many things can happen that are down to luck that the variance doesn't even out over 38 games.

Of course it's most unlikely, but stranger things have happened in football than a relegation threatened team getting a draw away from home.

Rumours are abound that we're to sign a Japanese playmaker from Borussia Dortmund, but I can't say I've ever heard of him.

Kagawa? I doubt whether he could be the right person for United, although he's a good player.

Arsenal got away with the draw with Norwich, lucky for them Tottenham drew with Villa.

How many titles have been won a team that doesn't deserve it??

I'll answer it for you,, 0,, same for relegation.

you go down you deserve it, you miss out on europe you deserve it..
38 games will give a fair answer

Mancini, are you listening?
You better keep our trophy glistening!
We'll be back next May, to take it away,
Walking in a Fergie wonderland! :p

Minus the goals, I reckon Javi Martinez or Yann M'Vila could provide a lot to Man Utd. Kagawa too would be amazing.

Brilliant weekend. Spurs bottle it, Newcastle not good enough, and Man City look to have won the title! Perfect weekend for a Gooner. Now all that's needed is Newcastle to win and Spurs to lose, and it'll be a dream come true!

birmingham last year were not one of the 3rd worst teams in the league.

they still deserved to go down, but we reasonably unlucky to do so.

teams can win football matches they don't deserve too. they can be outplayed all game and nick a fortuitous goal or get favorable decisions from officials. there isn't some sort of karmic football force that ensures this balances out over a 38 game season. teams will get more points than you would perhaps think they deserve. teams will get less.

when everton got 4th a few years ago there was no way they were the 4th best team in the league. Liverpool won the champions league that year and finished below them. They were a far better side. Imagine everton in the champions league final with Marcus bent up front on his own against maldini and nesta. But lady luck smiled in their direction all season long and they finished 4th.

Whether we deserved 4th or not that year is neither here nor there really. if the best team won every game or every competition then there would be no point in competitive sport.

^^So your saying that mancity didnt deserve to win :lol:lol???Even our local rivals are agreed and you mean we got 38 games lucky or helped by officials:lol:lol

Utd are really going to feel the crunch once Fergie leaves. What he's done under the Glazers' reign has been astonishing. The fact is Utd just don't have the spending power of other teams and that's why they haven't signed the players they need.

I think you should forget that trophy atleast for 5 years because next year competition will be more so fergie have to wait for 5 or 10 years more:lol:lol

where have i said anything close to that? I haven't mentioned man city once in posting my thoughts on how variance is overlooked and undervalued in football. You're just making stuff up. Not everything is about you or "your" club.

I'm sure that's what Chelsea thought as well, after their two season domination of the league. Underestimate Utd at your peril - we very rarely go two years without being champions. So be sure to take good care of that trophy - it's only on loan. ;)

That's a first.

Ahahahahahaha. :D

Its on loan hahahaha still are you saying that first its not and if is the case then we will be give u after 20 years :lol:lol:lol and dream on boy u cant beats us with that squad and you will splash some your owners money to strength the squad then u might have a bit chance against our current squad
