Saying he was terrible was excessive but my point is that Rooney should be A LOT better than he actually is. So many games he was complete and utter garbage last season and Berbatov remained an unused sub on the bench. Ridiculous.

Like Puddleduck said, he's not worth the ?200+k a week that he's on. He's just not in that bracket of players anymore and if things continue I doubt he ever will be again.

I hope I'm forced to eat my words, I really do but looking at Rooney now you see a good player in poor form who's nothing special and someone who doesn't have the fitness to last very long at the top level. Looking at Rooney circa Euro 2004 and looking at him now, you just feel disappointed.

Also the Kaka rumours are bs surely?

Yeah the Kaka rumours were confirmed bs.

If Rooney's as bad as you say he is this season, Kagawa should get a chance in his spot.

I'm starting to think maybe Berbatov's attitude off the field or something had something to do with his lack of game time? Can't be only his on-field performances, surely.

Could be, but SAF's not really hard on him aside from not selecting him.

How do you know he isn't?

Not selecting him after he's top scorer in the league is the manager's way of saying he's not taking his ----.

New poll up. After criticism about the options in previous years I've taken the top 7 teams from last year this time so there can't be any argument.

Hopefully it's more realistic this season.

Last season the poll was "Which club do you support?"

No footballer's worth ?200k+ a week - these wages are ridiculous.

Anyway - last night's game proved that Carrick as a CB just doesn't work. Everton kept pumping balls into Fellaini and he was a constant threat but I'm pretty sure a proper CB would've dealt with that ball. The performance looked a bit disjointed but the main problem was our defence - to have three front line defenders missing was always going to cause problems but I think we should've got a draw - Rooney had a clear chance and hit it straight at the keeper.

Not sure why RvP didn't start either.

So already, City have a three point start on us.

Media. It is tough though to trust the British Press.

There's no Norwich in the poll.:(

Surely if you grew up in Manchester, you should be a City fan ;)

Just throwing this out there.

Taking into account Manchester and the surrounding areas, it's pretty even.

Posted it again because I accidentally deleted it.

Nope, that's my first and last word on it. I was just getting bored of this myth that all Utd fans come from the south. ;)

Yea fair shout and i see he has now gone to Middlesbrough. Will be watching his progress and hopefully he can return strong like Bertrand for England's sake.

BBC Sport - Middlesbrough sign Chelsea's Josh McEachran on loan

Great move and now it is up to him to prove his worth at Boro.

And while we're on that, sounds like he had a great game tonight in Boro's 3-2 win over Burnley.

You're not going to get panic after just 1 game, are you?

On the game, maybe this is said on hindsight but you've got to wonder why on earth is Carrick marking Fellaini for the goal? He's never going to win an aerial battle with Fellaini especially when he's on song last night.

Fair play to Adebayor. Getting paid by two clubs. Genius.

Can't believe Dawson is going. I thought him and Kaboul would be the starting partnership this year. Hope Avb knows what he's doing.

It'll be interesting to see how Vertonghen does now.

Really likes to go forward, so wouldn't be surprised if he is out of position quite a bit. Should be a very good player for Spurs though.
