Are people so naive to think that Arsenal have what it takes to win the league this season? People are getting taken in, by their excellent start. Their side is too young, they have no experience of winning the league, I'll repeat what I said a few weeks back, in February it'll be a two horse race between United and Chelski, however, after Jose's departure I'm not sure I'm that convinced about Chelski anymore.

Arsenal have beaten Premiership first team's in the past, while playing their 2nd team in the league cup and still not won the league. As soon as Fabregas loses some of his present world class form, so will Arsenal. Their result at West Ham was impressive, but there was an overreaction when they beat Derby 5-0 at home. Liverpool had done the same thing a couple of weeks earlier and are now getting stick for a few draws.

Whenever we do well, we're a one man tam. First it was Henry, now Fabregas. This team has mature as a unit for the past 3/4 years and have improved with every season.

Every player is in form and we have a brilliant back up of youth players.

Age doesn't matter. Experience does and this team has experience.

We've shown we can cope with the aggressive teams, now we'll see how we fare against the more skillful ones.

Like it or not, we are the best team in the Premiership at the moment and that won't change because of one player.

I hate that phrase "they have no experience of winning the league", it's complete tosh. Chelsea didn't have this much vaunted experience in 04/05 and they won it. By this phrase's logic, no one would ever win a league ever because they don't have the experience.

United at the start of last season, a vast majority had no experience of winning the league...Carrick, Rooney, Ronaldo, Van Der Sar, Vidic, Evra, Saha...

Arsenal dont have the experience Will, Drew of that list that you mentioned, 2 are English and so understand the English league more, Ronaldo's been here for 4 seasons now, VDS's a Champions League winner. Evra's played in a Champions League final and Vidic's played in the World Cup.

Matt, though in 2005, Chelski didn't have youngsters, I think its more important to have experience in youngsters. Chelski just signed big names from around UK and Europe. They were well established players. Anyway, tbh, what would Everton and Liverpool fans know about winning the league? 17 years since the title went to Merseyside.

You keep it up for the whole season Will, then you'll be the best team in the league.

So you're saying are opinion isn't as good because our teams haven't won the league? I've seen us win the champions league, i know what its like to win.

It was a tongue in cheek comment, it's just I'm not too keen on the :p emoticon or I would have used that.

Still, 17 yearssssss..........

It's not my fault that your all closet Gooners (another tongue in cheek comment by the way)

More than half of this team have featured in a CL final, been here for at least 4 years, played in the WC and have great talent so what's the difference, Phil?

Do I have to go through this again, reasons why Arsenal wont win the league:

1) Almunia isn't good enough as a first keeper, Lehmann is prone to mistakes.
2) They'll only start to miss Henry, when they have the tight games, that they used to be able to win 1-0 through some Henry magic.
3) I can only count a couple of players in the whole Arsenal squad who were there in 2003/2004 when you last won the league. Argue the point if you want, but you need experience of winning the league. We had Scholesy, Giggs, Neville, Rio, Brown and O'Shea.
4) Arsenal have a known problem of getting results up north, shown again by the result at Blackburn this season. They cant afford that.
5) When Fabregas stops scoring, Arsenal are going to struggle for goals big time.
6) United are gonna win it!

i agree but u cant count them out they r playing the best football at the minute and i am a man utd supporter so saying that hurts but its true. I agree with you Phil. When Arsenal have to play the top teams we will see what they can do!

Thats just GARBAGE!!

I actually take back what I'd said in pre-season, as I really think Henry's departure has helped Arsenal improve as a team. Yes, Fabregas has been their best player, but the whole team has performed fantastically so far.

You do not need the experience of winning a league, as there is always a first time. Like someone said, the gunners have enough experienced lads in the team, and a lot of players at the peak of their careers.

The only possible problem for Arsenal could be their strength in depth. Both United and Liverpool have covered that area pretty well.

But Arsenal are playing far better football than anyone else in England, and if they keep doing that, the unthinkable may just happen, you know.

I still tip Liverpool to find a way back from their rotational woes, and win the Premiership this year.

Where is your proof? Almunia has done very well so far and should keep Lehmann out on form. VDS is prone to mistakes also.

2) They'll only start to miss Henry, when they have the tight games, that they used to be able to win 1-0 through some Henry magic.

Tight games? Like Fulham? Like Man City? Like West Ham? We have won tight games and without the King.

That's BS! How much experience did you have of winning the league in 92/93 or Arsenal have in 97/98? You don't have to win something before to win it again or there would only ever be one winner.

4) Arsenal have a known problem of getting results up north, shown again by the result at Blackburn this season. They cant afford that.

The only reason we didn't beat Blackburn was because of Lehmann's blunder. You don't go up north and score 4 against a team like Blackburn so that error was costly. As for having a known problem, that's history and if we're using past results to decided matches, we might as well give you the title.

5) When Fabregas stops scoring, Arsenal are going to struggle for goals big time.

How? He's not our main scoring outlet. He's not even our top Premiership scorer. Adebayor is. We're not a one-man team believe it or not. Nearly everyone has scored a goal this season.
Diaby, Fabregas, Rosicky, Eduardo, Bentdner, Van Persie, Hleb, Denilson, Adebayor have all scored so far and between our strikers, they've scored 9 from 11 Premiership games and 11 from 18 in all competitions so it's pretty foolish to assume that when Fabregas stops scoring so will Arsenal.

6) United are gonna win it!

How do you know? Because they've won it before? So have Arsenal. It doesn't matter whether you've won it before because only this season's form counts and on our form, we'll win it but it could easily change.

..

Yeah, I had already seen that story and its bullcrap. You shouldn't get into a team just because of your nationality.

Skill>>>>>>>>>>Nationality

If an English player isn't good enough, I don't want him playing for Arsenal.

VDS is nowhere near as prone to mistakes as Lehmann though . I completely agree with Sepp Blatter and think he's got the right idea :p
