Valencia has been absolutely sh*t this season, he really shouldn't be playing against the big teams

FA Cup Semis draw:

Wigan vs. Blackburn/Millwall
City vs. United/Chelsea

The inevitable occurs and eventually rules out the side finishing sixth in the league from playing in next season's Europa League.

Swansea, fifth placed side in the league, and one off Millwall/Blackburn/Wigan will now be a part of next season's Europa League, from England, as a result of that FA Cup semifinal draw.

It's not impossible for Liverpool to finish fifth with that scenario given today's result & Arsenal's stuttering form. All Liverpool need is another dynamic wing forward player of a Ribery, Ben Arfra ilk and they will pushing the top 4 hard i reckon.

On today's games, i hated having to switch between channel's to watch both. Ridiculous that the Utd vs Chelsea & Pool vs Spurs were going on almost simultaneously.

Major points:

- Carrick is not a Pirlo/Xavi/Alonso/Scholes style player - he is more of Busquets type player. But that pass to Hernandez was superb & would have made any of those players at their best proud. His pass completion rate has to be close 100% today.

- Bale is the man, but i thought thought a lack of Lennon messed up their balance badly today.

- As Ian Wright said on commentary, United seemed a bit tired come the 2nd half. Maybe they were a bit mentally drained from the Madrid game. But that's not take away from the erudite substitutions Benitez made.

- Luiz is not central defender. The role in mid-field Benetiz discovered for him is his best role. Ivanovic/Cahill should be Chelsea's main defensive pair.

- Ash Cole is a legend, but everytime i see him up against quick wingers now, he looks unusually pensive & backs off them a lot. He has lost a lot of pace to feel confident of testing them defensively.

- Torres has totally lost all instincts as a striker, he really should have anticipated De Gea's rebound in stoppage time. He needs to get away from Chelsea & find a new club. Sad seeing a player who was the best striker in the world just a few years ago looking so horrific.

We were damn lucky to get away with a replay in that! Typical game of two halves right there: first half, Utd were all over Chelsea but in the second half, we were barely in the game. Great save by De Gea late on to deny Mata and secure a replay; the replay won't be as much of a pain now we're out of Europe.

Valencia's form is terrible and is it just me, or has RvP's form dipped a bit in the last few games?

As for Torres, I've been saying for about a year that he needs to get the hell out of Chelsea and out of England for the sake of his career.

The most horrendous weather I've ever sat in at a football match yesterday. Brrr.

The very fact that he doesn't even care to respond shows how much of his confidence has dripped.

I think Torres is more of a cracking CB now...

Definitely. 1 goal in his last 9 outings speaks for itself, given the man's caliber.

:lol what the hell is tottenham's assistant coach gesticulating to his colleague

Weird decision.

They're going to suffer relegation anyways, so why sack McDermott? He could bring Reading straight back next year.

Strange one....

Nice easy start for the new guy though - I'm pretty sure it's a relaxing trip to Old Trafford. :D
