Two fantastic goals by Everton, and one of the worst decisions I've ever seen in my entire life. How the ref. didn't give a penalty for that handball is so bewildering! And the Everton red card - pretty similar to the Nani tackle, no? OK, Nani's was higher but both were obviously going for the ball. One was a yellow card (happened to be his second yellow) and the other was somehow a straight red. As the commentators said, good job the referee wasn't Turkish - replied to by G Neville with a terse 'hmph!'.

Over to us now. :)

We'll have to agree to disagree on that one; the foot was high - nowhere near as high as Nani's but still high enough to warrant dangerous play, and the player was going for the ball. The commentator's seemed to think so as well. ;)

Wow, give it a rest United fans. You've been going on and on about that Nani tackle, comparing it to literally every single tackle made. It is difficult to compare different games as there are different referees in charge. What matters is that a referee is consistent within a game (i.e. if Alonso made a similar challenge, that should have been a red too).

kerplucking hell, this is god awful. Southampton have dominated us from start to finish. They should have 5 or 6. Nobody looked bothered today, not even Suarez. Once again, things start looking up and Liverpool inexplicably take two steps backwards like they did vs Villa & West Brom.

A damning statistic- "Liverpool have conceded two or more goals in over half their league games, but also kept 12 clean sheets."

To be honest, I only mentioned it that way because the commentators did - otherwise I wouldn't have given it a second glance.

Huge result for the Town today, especially with pretty much every other team around us winning as well. With the games in hand however we could be back to 21st in a worst case scenario.

Also I expect everyone's got fizzy knickers after Rio's assist?

He did roll back the years a bit with that - he always used to get forwards like that in the early part of his career. Fairly routine win - I wasn't expecting anything that special given the amount of players we rested. RvP needs to break this drought sooner rather than later; although he did come close a few times, he also put one chance out for a throw in.

Sort of gives the lie to the 'one man team' rubbish though, eh? RvP hasn't been scoring for quite a while now, yet we keep winning. ;)

Stoke (A), Southampton (A), West Brom (H), Aston Villa (H), Arsenal (H) - arguably five of our worst performances in the Premiership this season. Were an absolute pain to watch, yesterday.

A damning statistic- "Liverpool have conceded two or more goals in over half their league games, but also kept 12 clean sheets."

Another one: Liverpool have scored more league goals this season than in 19 of their previous 20 league campaigns. But, they've also conceded more league goals this season than in 19 of their previous 20 league campaigns.
