What was Clattenburg playing at!? Sometimes refs get a tough deal, but how on Earth was that not a penalty in the last minute, Carragher clearly brought Lescott, then Clattenburg was smirking at the end as Liverpool celebrated and the Everton players went up to him. Unlucky Nev, he had to do that, he's a legend still!

Thats really annoying, anyway, all of the big 4 playing on a Saturday is rare, so we should make the most of today. Arsenal and Chelski have got potentially tricky games, I expect Arsenal to beat Bolton at home, but it could be tough for Chelski. They've lost on their last 2 trips to the Riverside.

What a great scouse derby! The first sending off was the obvious turning point, Kuyt's penatly was class, so cool and calm, perfect penalty. Everton struggled from then on, Liverpool kept posession well and their midfield dominated the game but the chances they wasted were a joke, Torres was missed, Voronin had a poor game as his replacement. The Brazilian lad in midfield looks really good, his shot hand balled on the line by Neville gave Liverpool the win, BUT, was the Carragher on Lescott after that a penalty?

I think it was!

Now, Carn Arsenal!!

What a great advert for Premiership football today's derby was. Just goes to show that when two teams play for the win as opposed to bore tactics like Chelsea vs Manure then a high octane game can be made.

We clearly should have had a penalty but to be honest, Liverpool deserved the win and 2-1 was probably the right result in the end.

Benitez made himself look a bit of a twat in the post match though. Saying Lescott dove at the end. It's all very well lambasting the quality of English refereeing when a dodgy penalty goes against you at Anfield, but when you get away with a blatant penalty at least have the decency to acknowledge it you fat spanish waiter.

Oh, and great news for England fans; Robinson can twat off to crapville to make way for Neville. What an absolute legend.

Had to be Phil Neville! Just had to!

I have very little time left on the PC (on holiday atm) so I just have to say that Hyypia`s finishing is better than Voronins. Which isn`t good, especialy as Hyypia scored an own goal.

And LOL at Matt :)

I haven't seen Utd's game yet, just about to watch it now on MotD.

@Evertonfan: I reckon that referee in your game must be closely related to the moron who disallowed England's try in the World Cup! Two of the most blatant penalties I've ever seen, not given! Also, what the hell was Kuyt on?? I think I first saw that particular move in Street Fighter 2!!! A red card if ever I saw one...

I personally wouldn't have sent Kuyt off as he didn't make contact, but if Mikel (I think?) gets sent off for a similar offense then i'd like some consistency please referees.

It was a disgraceful tackled though. Thankfully Neville was in the air else we could well have seen the end of England's newest number 1's career.

Arsenal are sexy as fudge! It was a game of missed chances for Liverpool but Mark Clatthamburger wasn't half kind to them! Villa shot themselves in the foot, leg and arse today. Basic defensive errors and you won't get away with that against Manchester United.

The front two struggled today but they're not used to playing with eachother (don't say anything). 'Twill be interesting to see how we cope without Robin against Man U and El Poole but we'll cope as long as we have Fabby and Ade.

Sissoko was playing bad to. Vornin also had a bad game.
An obvious penalty at the end for Everton, suprised he didn't give it.
Dont know what Benitez was doing taking off Gerrard, he was our bets on the pitch, good pace. I would have taken off sissoko.

In fairness though, Rafa made the right decision in bringing him off.

I agree. Even though Sissoko dint have a particularly good game, his role is a crucial one, as he can go back and support the defence. Besides, Gerrard needs more protection than Sissoko as well. So in the end, not that bad a decision by Rafa.

Phil Neville should consider goal keeping after that blinder he saved.

Im not overly sure. Gerrard was brought off when the score was 1-1. We needed a goal and we had 4 defenders to defend Everton going on goal. Sissoko couldn't get the right passes through to set up shots on goal or couldn't grab good chances on goal. Yes fair to give an out of form palyer a chance but i think he needed to go off.
