Fantastic, as long as we don't spend ?100m again on transfers, we should break even...

Bojan is all hype and nothing more. Afellay makes Diaby look like the fittest man on earth. Deulofeu has to compete with Neymar , Pedro and Sanchez , 3 WC wingers , but , either Pedro or Alexis might be sold. In that case Gerard would be pretty useful.

Not sure how I forgot about him, but I'd argue Szczesny was the standout goalkeeper this season. We conceded half our goals (20 of 41) in the four games against Aston Villa, Man City, Liverpool and Chelsea. He was outstanding in all of them, it was the defensive unit that was torn apart. He stopped those from turning out a lot worse than they did and was consistent all season. Tied with Cech for most clean sheets in the league too.

The thing is a goalkeeper for a top team like him is never going to have the opportunity to make as many great saves as someone like Marshall, though I'd definitely have Marshall second.

I'm pretty sure Alexis will go. He is strongly linked to Juventus, looking at how the Higuain deal turned out though I wouldn't be so sure of them completing the deal with their finances, so he could go elsewhere too.

Deulofeu is easily better than Bojan and Afellay. Afellay is not good enough for his age, Bojan hasn't progressed well since showing huge potential earlier in his career.

According to German newspaper Bild, Pep said to Arsenal and Chelsea target Mandzukic: "Good luck with your new club!" If we get both Costa and Mario ( either Balo or Mandzu ) , we will unstoppable next season , both in Europe and England.

? Sixty million euros (49 million pounds) to be withheld from prize money over the next three seasons, but this will be reduced to 20 million euros (16.3 million pounds) if the club complies with agreed spending and break-even limits.

? Champions League squad cut to 21 players for next season, but will return to 25 players for 2015-16 if they comply with agreements.

? Spending on transfers limited to 60 million euros (49 million pounds) net this summer.

? A salary freeze on the Champions League squad for the next two seasons.

? City have agreed to cut the losses to a maximum of 20 million euros for (16.3 million pounds) the 2013-14 financial year and 10 million euros (8.2 million pounds) loss for the 2014-15 season.

? City's ?400million Etihad sponsorship deal was passed by UEFA but the club have agreed not to increase the value of two "second-tier commercial partnerships" with other parties related to their Abu Dhabi-based owners.

? The club has also agreed that revenues from the sale of image rights to related parties will not be included in future break-even calculations.

Manchester City among nine clubs settling over Financial Fair Play sanctions, according to report - ESPN FC

Manchester City Football Club can confirm that at the end of the current financial year (May 31st) it is on course to financially break even, as planned.

MCFC Financial Fair Play Statement - Manchester City FC

So in the end we're stuck with a ?20m fine(coming right out of revenue withheld from competing in the CL split ?10m for this season and ?10m for the next), a squad of 21 in the CL for next season, a limited transfer budget of ?60m and a freeze on the wage bill for the upcoming financial year, ofc all this only applies if we break even for the current financial year like we claim we will.

I had him 2nd behind Marshall for the season.

Mandzukic will leave Bayern because he's unsettled by the prospect of playing 2nd fiddle to Lewandowski, but will join Chelsea with the prospect of playing 2nd fiddle to Costa, some logic, sort this out Arsenal... :rolleyes

He'd better not come to Arsenal. A slightly better version of Giroud but also a massive ----.

I dont want him at CFC if we get Costa. We will then have Lukaku, Mario and Costa , and while that is mouth-watering on paper , it simply wont work out. None of them will be wiling to play the Ba role , so we will inevitably sell Lukaku. And that is something I dont want to happen.

City sanctioned:lol. That'll destroy their CL campaign for this season. Can they defend their PL title with much less to spend? I'm not so sure...

It's the same for Zenit and PSG, Zenit are going to have trouble getting out of their CL group if they get anything resembling a tough one, and they already lost the title this season and this is going to dent their chances next season too. PSG won't win the CL for sure for another season, though they should still coast to the Ligue 1 title. I wonder if this has any bearing on the departures of the likes of Witsel, Hulk and Cavani.

I dont think Hulk will leave , now that he has his BFF managing him :p Witsel is a possibility , and I guess many top clubs will be vying for his signature. Cavani leaving is improbable cause PSG have made a huge investment in him and Ibra has only a year or two in the tank. I can see the likes of Pastore quitting PSG when PSG cut their CL squad. In city , I guess they will leave out the likes of Kolarov and Jovetic when they pick the CL squad

Destroy our CL campaign... we registered a squad list of 23 players for 13-14 and used 21, and we were never going to spend more than the ?60m that UEFA have limited us to, Mangala, Fernando and Sagna (our top) aren't going to cost more than that.

Ferran Soriano - No major Manchester City changes this summer - ESPN FC

He said this a day prior to the sanctions, so could just be him knowing what was coming and saving face.
