The first game tonight was incredibly dull, Evra needs to play for France, best left-back in the world. Not keen on Malouda, Anelka has seemed out of form since he moved to Chelsea. France will need to improve massively to stand any chance of winning the tournament.

What a game that was! Attacking football, lots of chances, controversy, and great goals. The second and the third were brilliant, even if the first was offside. Bow down to my Holland predicting powers. Sneijder impresses me everytime I see him play.

The difference is m_vaughan, this kind of match happens once in a blue moon for internationals (look at some of the games in this tournament so far), whereas you get games like that quite often in domestic football. Club > country.

And my point was unless it's the finals of a major competition, Club football will always trump Internationals (excluding CL, FA Cup finals and winning the Prem)
