Failure of the Decade

For Pakistan obviously.

It wasn't that we defeated the Pakistanis by a comprehensive margin or anything. Both the sides were evenly matched in the final, and the game continued till the very end with numerous twists and turns. That is actually the best T-20 game I've ever watched. Had everything in it! Thrills, action, tension..everything! By no chance can it be termed as a "Failure of the Decade", even from a Pakistani point of view. And tbf, the way Pakistan put up a brave fight there deserves a loud applause.

2007 ODI World Cup.

Among the players, it has to be Ajit Agarkar and Irfan Pathan. Both were hailed as the next Kapil after a few good performances, but both failed spectacularly. Esp. Agarkar just went down the gutter in rapid speed. Irfan still has a chance of getting back and doing well.

Geraint Jones + Bit harsh on Geraint there as he played a big part in England's victory in the Fourth Test of the 2005 Ashes Series and his form last summer for Kent almost earned him a recall for this Winter.

As for my failure of the decade, there have been a few being an England supporter.

The last two World Cups (Defeat to Australia in 03 when we had them on the ropes stands out)

Not building on winning the Ashes in 05 (Lost our next test series to Pakistan and it was just a shame that that winning side from 05 were unable to play with each ever again.)

Losing the test series West Indies at the start of 2009 and being bowled out for 51 when the pitches were created for high run scoring games.

Well at least we know that'll be the failure of the current decade!
