I shall NP, the seasons finished so it will be quite some time before I play cricket again. I'll try it the next time i'm out with a few pals though.
Sounds good. Try it in the nets first to get used to it.evertonfan said:I shall NP, the seasons finished so it will be quite some time before I play cricket again. I'll try it the next time i'm out with a few pals though.

I would be intreged to know how fast you guys are in either mph or kph...
To all those who say pace does not matter I agree in part.
Ian Pont, Englands bowling coach says pace is a result of good biomechanics (which results in less injuries and better accuracy), it is trying to bowl too fast that results in loss of accuracy and injuries
Manee, by 'timed' do you mean clocked on a spedd meter? If so then my personal best is 76.3 mph but i'd say my average speed is around 70-71 mph. I focus much more on bowling a good line and length just as McGrath and Anderson do. I believe pace is necessary but accuaracy is more important, i've followed that motive since i've been playing cricket and it's partly due to McGrath being my cricketing idol.
yeh thats crazy when i do my akhtar 100m runups i get pretty fast too i might addmanee said:Bloody hell!!!!
76.3mph at 15 is amazing, how do you do it? Good rhythm or are you very strong or quick at run up

just wondering, how do you weigh?evertonfan said:Well I have pretty strong and defined arms but my run up is pretty short. I start off at about 65-67mph when opening the bowling and once I find my groove and my right line and length, I put in my effort balls but I aim mostly to have all of my delieveries at around 70-72mph and I save my really quick effort ball for when i'm ticked off.
manee said:Not yet 6 foot and bowling 76mph, believe me, you will be rapid when you are older. The quickest bowler at my club at kids level is this kid who is 16 and he is 6ft 2 and bowls just over 72mph at his quickest...
