Right this is not a manager story, but by using the latest Fifa World Cup Game I am going to be making England's story.
First match will start today with England vs Hungary, England playing some more of their pre-match friendlies and then the FIFA World Cup in Germany will start.

No surprises here as Argentina finish top of the group, Netherlands make it through - barely - on Goal Difference.

Group D

As expected, Portugal and Mexico go through. Iran and Angola had no chance really.

Group E

Czech Republic crash out in the more interesting 'death group'. USA take their place along with Italy.

Italy 1 Czech Republic 0
USA 0 Ghana 0

Group F

Japan top the group with a perfect 9! Australlia fail to take advantage against Croatia, a win would of sent them through and Brazil out!

Croatia 1 Australlia 1
Japan 4 Brazil 1

Group G

Switzerland and France, deservedly go through. A win for Korea on the day wasn't enough.

France 2 Togo 0
South Korea 1 Switzerland 0

Group H

Tunisia top this one, and Ukraine were hot on Spain's heels. But they survived the scare and are through.

Ukraine 0 Tunisia 1
Saudi Arabia 0 Spain 3

First-Half Report

So, here England are. Lined up for what should be an easy win for Sven's men, which will see them play either Portugal or Netherlands in the next round.

Here is Sven's line-up, Rooney starts for England which is fantastic news!

lineup0lw.png

Let's get things underway now.

4th Minute: Mendez is allowed a cross into the box but Tenorio's header is easily saved by Robinson.

15th Minute: England worryingly giving away the ball a fair bit - Ecuador dominating them.

20th Minute: Owen is marked and plays it back to Lampard, he can hit them from here but not today.

25th Minute: GOOOOOOOOOOOALLLLL! No-marking whatsoever in the box as a corner comes in, Mendez is allowed a free header and he scores! 1-0 Ecuador.

Video Clip:

England are in deep trouble as Mendez gets the opener.

30th Minute: Ecuador have most of the posession and England are frustrated - very frustrated.

41st Minute: By the time England get another shot on goal, I'm sleeping! Gerrard does well takes it round one but hits the side-netting.

HALF-TIME

Well England aren't doing incredibly well at Half-Time, they're 1-0 down and deservedly so! They need to get their legs into gear or they'll be on the next flight home - more drama coming up in the Second-Half.

Second-Half Report

England need to step things up now - if they don't they risk losing and therefore going home.

50th Minute: Owen is through but stalls and the defenders catch up on him.

57th Minute: Triple Substitution
substitution.gif
, Gerrard, Lampard, Rooney off - Wright-Phillips, Crouch, Jenas on... interesting choice.

sub18ws.png

Rooney gets a standing ovation on his comeback, Sven is getting desperate.

61st Minute: What a miss! Not much more to be said - Owen slices it over.

66th Minute: GOOOOOOOALLLLLLLL! Owen scores again, brilliant goal - England looking good.

Video Clip:

cel25zb.png

Say what? Owen scores a cracker for England to level the scores.

74th Minute: So close, Tenorio snatches the ball from a brilliant long ball, turns, shoots and it's just over.

82nd Minute: Tenorio again turns and takes it on the volley, lucky that one went straight to Robinson.

90th Minute: Owen provides the perfect cross but where is Crouch? Beckham has a potshot which is powerful and accurate but the keeper gets down low to save it.

FULL-TIME

So the agony of extra-time looms on England, and so does the prospect of Penalties. All credit to Ecuador they have performed fantastically today - and in someways deserve the win.

(Left) Jenas and Neville talk things over and, (Right), England and Ecuador are exhausted

EXTRA-TIME REPORT

Well here we go again, Extra-Time with the prospect of Penalties, oh joy!

96th Minute: Awful foul on Wright-Phillips, free-kick in Beckham terrirtory.

97th Minute: Easy save for the keeper, too easy for my liking.

engecu37ef.png

Beckham lines it up but it is poor

105th Minute: Ecuador get on the break but Terry tackles up well.

HALF-TIME EXTRA TIME

111th Minute: England are losing the ball and are all over the place

120th Minute: Tevez has a volly easily saved.

FULL-TIME EXTRA TIME

This could spell trouble, England have failed to finish the job off and now we face the prospect of penalties - which England don't have a good record of.

Penalties:

155011.jpg

Delgado will take the first penalty

1-0 Delgado scores - Robinson dives the wrong way

170722.jpg

Owen next up

1-1 Owen scores - And so does Mora

202541.jpg

Lara will take this next one for Ecuador

2-1 Lara scores - Robinson dives to his right but Lara blasts it down the middle

194176.jpg

Pressures on for Crouch

2-2 Crouch scores - Mora dives the wrong way again

3497.jpg

Marlon Ayovi vs Paul Robinson, who will come on top?

2-2 Ayovi Misses - Top quality save by Robinson!

197463.jpg

Can Jenas take the advantage?

3-2 Jenas scores - Mora dives the wrong way, come on England!

155010.jpg

De La Cruz would prefer to score here

3-2 De La Cruz misses - Excellent save! Robinson dives the right way again!

179662.jpg

If Joe Cole scores then England are through

3-2 Cole misses - In all the excitement Joe Cole blasts it over the bar.

169238.jpg

Hurtado still needs to score though

3-3 Hurtado scores - Cool, calm, clinical, Robinson is rooted to the spot.

161454.jpg

Beckham has missed his last two penalties, will he make up for that?

4-3 Beckham scores - YES! Mora goes to the left, and Beckham goes for the top-right corner, England are through!

cel42ut.png

Beckham runs over to celebrate with his team-mates

That was one hell of a match, and for once England won a penalty-shoot out! Watch out World, England are coming!

cel35fj.png

England are through, celebrations begin
