Football Transfers Thread

No wonder Fifa didn't think Madrid were doing anything underhanded. Look at Blatter. and if Gilberto leaves, we'll lose a great servant to the club. He filled in as captain superbly during the 2006/07 season when Henry was consistently curtailed by injury.

Oh, and Wigan > Madrid

Corradi set for a move back to Italy.

Firstly, if we're going to have a fair debate, the European Cup didn't start in 92, as you know. You've won 9, we've won 3. However, football clubs are not just judged on trophies. Madrid have no class, yes they may have an electoral system, but thats corrupt as the candidates only win votes by saying they will get the best player in the world, ie Calderon at the moment.

Thank you very much but I know that. I was talking about the new competition,i.e, the Champions League which started from 1992, and in the footballing timeline represent the modern era of European football. Even since that Real have won more than United.

There is nothing corrupt with our electoral system. Propaganda is part of almost any sort of elections. Grow up!

About that training ground you said, look whose hands its in now, they bought it off you to clear debts, then gave you it back for free, thats being funded by the government in my book.

You really dont know what you are talking about. Madrid sold its training ground to the city council, and never got it back. We now have a new training facility on the outskirts of the city. The old site has now been replaced by buildings and offices.

United are a REAL football club. You get 200 fans going to your aways, (not an exagguration). We get 9,000 going to some aways, and it would be more if it wasn't for a smaller allocation.

Although its far more than 200, I agree it might not be as much as United. So what?, its not about quantity but quality. United will always have more number of fans but everylike likes to jump on the bandwagon. Its not even funny the number of United fans I know. Nothing to do with how real a football club is because we have a proper club with elections and only people who have been associated with the club or the city can compete.

United might be the biggest team in England, and I'll even admit they are the best club team in Europe from last season, but no means are they bigger than Real Madrid or even Barcelona for that matter.

Jeez, can we have at least one thread that isn't a Spain is Greater than all thread or a Man Utd are the best thread?

I said Spain is greater than England. With just two major trophies, I think Spain really cant be compared with the Italians, Brazilians, French and Germans.

I honestly can't believe you've just criticised the quality of our fans. A bit rich. We take 9000 proper fans, and have about another 10000 turned down, you have about 1000 proper fans. Not hard. Our fans are unbelievably better than Reals. Always will be.

This statement proves how little you know. Barcelona, that's laughable. Now I'd like to hear your theory on how Real are bigger. More trophys? So by your basis Forest>Chelsea and Arsenal. WRONG. Though in reality madrid shouldn't be taken into consideration because they aren't a real club.

Oh come on, Man Utd fans support the team through thick and thin! In Spain, fans in general - not just Real, get on the players' backs if the match isn't going well! The amount of times I've heard a commentator say that if Utd/England make a good start, they'll silence the home fans, is unbelievable. That doesn't work against Utd, or England. We support the team for the whole match. OK, England have been booed off a few times, but let's face it, they deserve it. If they were playing to their full potential, we'd have made Euro 2008 and done bloody well to boot.

As for saying that Real and Barca are bigger clubs than Utd? Don't make me laugh!

So now, Ronaldo thinks he's a 'modern slave' as well? Looks like it, going by his agreement with that tosser Blatter! He's actually beginning to piss me off now, with all this umming and aahing. Make your mind up, Christiano. The last thing we need is an unhappy player causing a load of trouble in the dressing room and then buggering off come January. Also, someone raised an interesting point: Will he even be the same player after this ankle injury?

Look at Rooney. Ever since that metatarsal stuff, he hasn't been quite the same, has he? Neither was Owen after his major injury.

Perhaps we should just get rid? I'm beginning to think that he's stringing us along now and I'm sure I'm not the only Utd fan around that's beginning to get that feeling.

If he wants to stay, then I welcome that news. But he's got to want to stay. Otherwise it becomes like the Andrei Kanchelskis incident back in 94'/95 (or thereabouts).

Rooney is a far better player now than then, he just doesn't do it for Ingurland. He has broken his foot twice more since then and had 2 other serious injurys, overall he's probably had about a year and a half off since then from other injurys so you're being way too harsh on him.

Ok, this is just the limit:

http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/11072008/58/premier-league-life-football-sweat-shop.html

Can you bloody believe these guys, moaning about this and that, when they're getting each week what a lot of people don't get in ten years and doing something that they love!!?

As for Rooney, it's either that his injury has affected him, or he gets played out of position too much, so can't make those lung bursting runs from deep he did in Euro 2004.

Rooney does get mucked about but 1 injury has not had the effect on him, he's had 4 or 5 just as serious.

I dont know what so laughable about whatever I said about Barcelona. They, like us, have a proper club with elections and presidents. Laporta is fighting tooth and nail right now to convince almost anyone at the club to let him stay. I know none of you want to be owned by Glazers, but the fact is, you are.

We are a real club and have been since 1902. Hala Madrid.

And good to see Madrid now considering Rafael Van der Vaart who I think we'll get for half the price of Ronaldo, and the Dutchman would fit into our system better without disrupting the balance, although Gago wont be happy.

What's laughable is that we have more trophies so you're stupid wrong measure we win on that. We have massively more power and fans. We are just miles ahead of them. It's amazing how little you know. You aren't a real club. You haven't earnt the right to be where you are today. Get over it.

True, I wasn't really taking all the other injuries into account, I suppose. I just wish they'd play him just behind the frontman, for England and Man Utd. Permanently! Stop putting him out on the damn wing! A while back, Capello said he wanted to see Rooney being more selfish and making more runs. Spot on, Fabio. But to do that, he needs to be playing somewhere he's comfortable. That's not as the main striker and I don't think it's on the wing either.

Edit: Gone a bit quiet on the Huntelaar front, other than Arsenal now voicing their interest. We do need another frontman though, Saha is too injury-prone.

Yes I actually made that point myself. And I know you knew that, as I said "as you know", as I said however trophies aren't everything.

Although its far more than 200, I agree it might not be as much as United.
Erm, no its not, its 300 maximum and thats for like the Barca game, the figures were in a few papers recently.

Hahahahahaha, oh yes, those quality Madrid fans. Madrid Aggro:p. United have quality fans, who follow them everywhere, RED ARMY! So you didn't jump on the Madrid bandwagon then? United are popular where you are etc. There are quite a few Madrid fans over here, theres even a few English Madrid forums.

Oh yes, biggest club and all that. We are MUFC, and thats what matters.

I'm an Arsenal fan,and the support in England is amazing. Last season,Derby were packed out for the last few games in the season, even though they were down with 12 points or whatever it was. Would you see that in Madrid or Barca in the same situation?
