Football Transfers Thread

Fair point it might well have been now you mention it, but it doesn't really change what I'm saying does it?

Also, the SSN reporter said more than one city player told Kaka not to join:D

And this won't help either:D

EXCLUSIVE: Kaka's ?100m deal to Manchester City collapses as Robinho storms out of training | Mail Online
---------------------------------------------
"QPR owner Flavio Briatore, the Formula One mnotor-racing magnate speaking in Portugal yesterday at the launch of his Renault team’s new car, joined the widespread criticism of City's transfer policy.

He said: 'If you put (Michael) Schumacher in a Minardi you are going nowhere.:D

'If you put Kaka in this club it is going nowhere. I think it is completely mad."
----------------------------

Like I've said all along, it's City, it's comedy:).

"...And Kaka said don't you play in red
....Are you having a laugh
....Are you having a laugh"
:D

that pic is quality. I am enjoying listening to that guy on SSN this morning who's a city fan. Every morning over the past few weeks he's been telling us with a hint of glee in his voice about Kaka and Bellamy and all sorts. Now he's got to report how Robinho stormed out of training and Kaka's not coming. :D

Haha, even I can LOL at City here. Everyone was so sure they'd get Kaka, and all they have to show from the week now is ?14million on Craig Bellamy. Been a dynamite start to the week for City, lose out on Kaka, get ripped off for Bellamy and United are top.

They will buy some big players soon though, there are almost certainly going to be some class players that will leap at the chance at earning ?500'000 a week, just not Kaka. He's certainly gained alot of respect for turning this move down, I personally thought he'd be a City player by the end of the week. Nice to see Robinho's had his first hissy fit as well =)

I can kind of see where Phil is coming from with his anti-City posts. I know for a fact if Sunderland started trying to go for players like Kaka, I would start kicking up a fuss ;)

Do have to LOL at City not getting Kaka though :p

And lol at City about Robinho storming out and flying back to Brazil! He's beginning to see sense, then.

I love this quote:

Sums City up really. :)

Well Pennant has join Pompey on loan looks a good move but surprised Pompey havent spend at all after selling two great players of the club for abt 30m and just signed Belhadj for 4m. Could have bought good strikers because Nugent isnt reliable while Crouch wont give you pace.

Man City now turning their attentions to hijack Arsenal's bid for Arshavin, if Man City go behind Arshavin then he surely will join them because at the moment no one can bid Man City money-wise and Arshavin wants money and that why he earlier rejected to sign for Spurs in the summer saying he wanted higher salary. Dunno how many more players are Man City gonna buy.

They're almost certainly getting Nigel De Jong, they also want Arshavin and apparently De Rossi, as well as Shay Given. They may not be at the level of Kaka, but you can't deny the fact that those 4 guys, alongside Bellamy and Bridge will strengthen the side immensely.

Robinho going back to Brazil wasn't because of Kaka either, was because of family issues.

The Arshavin ftransfer's nothing but a rumour as is the Given one. Arshavin earns 100k a week at Zenit and wants to play in the top league. The ONLY attraction of City is the chance to earn even more. They're not going anyhwere if they can't lure the world's best players.

That's not strictly true. They will lure some players and they'll lure better players than they have already. They didn't get Kaka but then it's not like no other club has ever tried to get him and failed. They won't always get their first choice but they will get players.

They can back off Given, unless they are willing to pay double what he is worth ;) Then they can have him and we can try and buy ourselves a defence

Agree with that. I remember we have failed before to sign Kaka as well. If what Kaka said is true, then it wasn't a case of where he was moving, but a case of whether to leave Milan or not. He would have rejected Manure as well.

Maybe it is a rumour. But thats no reason.

Correct. Although Robinho has a habit of just running back to Brazil all of a sudden. City have to get used to it.

If people want to believe Kaka went back to Brazil for "family reasons" then they, to quote The Kooks, are so naive.

City are expected to fine him when he gets back, and there's been no confirmation from them that he's been allowed to go.
