We may be playing well, but the fact is, we don't have a striker capable of scoring 20 goals a season currently fit. Anichebe works hard, but very rarely gets goals, 1 in 13/14 appearances in the league I think. We can't continually rely on Fellaini, Cahill and Arteta to get the goals. The defence is now performing alot better though, with Joleon starting to show the form he showed last year. Jags has been the player of the season thus far though, he's been immense, needs an England call up.

Also, Lee, care to explain why it's not sustainable? Or is your reasoning the same as mine above?

Same as you, I was referring to how Everton haven't had a fit designated striker for some time. You've been scoring goals somehow, but it won't keep going like that.

Apparently, we've agreed a fee with Zenit. Now, it's on to personal terms.

chelsea shud get drog fit or sell him since he looks lik he lost the drive to play for us... santa cruz wud fit into our system but i dont want no think chelsea will be spendin sny money soon

yh heard that arsenal have finally agreed a deal with zenit but talks are still takin place cos arshavin wants around ?67,000 after tax and thats way over what arsenal want to pay him

he's alright but isn't very consistent...and his wage demands are just toooooooo much and the deal might fall through after weeks of saga...and arsenal are gna end up signing no one in the end...atleast eduardo, rosicky, walcott and fabregas will be coming back soon...will be like new signings tbh

To be fair to him, for a guy that's not an out and out striker he's got a decent scoring record. He may be pretty over-rated, but he's a very decent player. He'd be a good signing for any Premier League club, can see City nipping in and stealing this one though, like they did with Robinho.

He's not worth that kind of money though. They've got plenty of better players at the squad anyway. Eduardo, Rosicky and Walcott are better options imo. They don't want riduculous prices. Wenger should spend his money elsewhere.

How much have Arsenal bid for him? I'd say he's worth about ?20million, transfer prices are going up, teams are having to pay more and more for players. Craig Bellamy cost City ?14million, Marouane Fellaini cost Everton ?15million, just the way transfers are going nowadays, won't be long till the Zidane record is broken.

Yeah you're right but it's not somewhere they need strengthening though. They have good cover for the wings. They could definitely do with someone in the centre to play with Fabregas and even a defender would be good.

Arshavin's not a winger =/ He's a centre forward/attacking midfielder, playing in the hole between the midfield and 2 strikers, and can actually pay up front as a sort of second striker. He could be a perfect catalyst to Fabregas' game, and a combination of Fabregas, Arshavin and Van Persie/Adebayor would give Arsenal so many more goalscoring options. I think he'd be a great signing and bring back the old Arsenal freedom and goals.

Sorry meant attacking midfielder, dunno why I said winger :S. I think Fabregas would work better if he could go more forward and have a central midfielder behind him so he doesn't have to worry. But I see where you're coming from.

Well Fabregas could maintain that freedom if they go with a set up like this:

-----------------------Denilson-----------------------------

-----------------------Fabregas-----------------------------

---Walcott-----------Arshavin-----------Nasri/Rosicky-----

--------------------Van Persie/Adebayor----------------------

Fabregas then has the support of Denilson for cover, giving him the chance to play his natural game, get forward and support Arshavin and the choice of striker. I think that'd be a dynamite midfield and attack, and could definitely allow Arsenal to maintain a real challenge next season. I personally think Arshavin could be a great signing if they get him.
