Football Transfers Thread

Remember, it was a matter of a week or so that he was saying that he's definitely staying at Utd! Now, it's 'I don't know....my main aim now is the national team, I don't want to talk about clubs'. I'm not saying 'Ronaldo Out', but I do think he'll go now; not that I want him to because I don't. It is a bit annoying though, all these constant changes of heart. Actually, there's nothing wrong with a change of heart; it's that he makes them public all the time that gets annoying.

Let's face it, Ronaldo is an attention seeking baby. All he wants is the limelight. He's not going to leave this summer, I don't think, he just wants to be at the centre of it all.

The Kaka rumours have now reached new levels with one the more reliable radio stations in Spain claiming the a deal worth 65 million euros has been done. Earlier Berlusconi mentioned live on TV that our offer was "difficult to resist".

Still not official though, but I think it will be, soon.

Can't sleep now.

Barry to Man City for ?12m.

Wrong descision by him I reckon.
Seems a bit odd that Villa wouldn't move on the ?18M price tag when talking to Liverpool, but wait a season and sell him to a richer club for considerably less. So yes, probably a wrong decision for him and not a very sensible business decision either.

Especially given he said he was going to play Champions League football...

Villa are in the Europa League, and Manchester City finished way below Villa this season.

Greedy Kno?.

I realise now that Sunday's News Of The World said that Man City were to sign Carlos Tevez and Gareth Barry for a combined sum of ?42m. One of them has come true, is Teva going to City?

Tbh City or Liverpool is a bit like a choice between being bummed by Sam Allardyce or Steve Bruce.

However I would have liked him to go to Liverpool. Just because Alonso would then probably head out and Alonso is much better. Of course Alonso could still go but he wants to stay and I can't see why they would get rid.

No, I didn't want him to come to Liverpool. I much prefer Alonso. I guess the only reasoning is down to the rules about foreign players in Europe.

Nice analogy btw.

But he is more likely to try and sell you a secondhand car

Or fit Chris Samba in somehow.

Randy Lerner said he wasn't going to cash in. It's the richest club in the world and he ends up cashing him in...

...for ?12m? It's the 2nd of June. There is plenty of time to negotiate a larger sum.

Agreed with Joe here to be honest, I'm more annoyed that he hasn't gone to Liverpool which would have meant Alonso would have gone. He's a decent signing for City, but he won't make that big a difference there, they need to sort their defence out for a start. During last season City spent 123 million, and got 3 points less than the previous year.:D

I wonder how much Liverpool have. Benitez said he would have to sell to buy.
