Yuh, I saw that on 606. It depends who we get in the Champions League. If we get someone like Zurich or Timisoara, it will be all gravy (yuh, I'll be using that from now on) but if we get a team like Athletico, I'll be pissed.

I would love an opening 6 games like that. Imagine the confidence if we get 4 points from Chelsea and Liverpool. Plus, it will shut up the critics early on.

Atletico* Not that hard to spell. :p I'm an Atletico fan (and a Manchester United one, but Atletico moreso), and it's fair annoying when people can't spell it right, so yeah. -.- And, we still need to qualify to be in the draw - with Atletico, you never know. Unpredictable is the way to describe the club.

Also, Real are first class idiots in any case - they may buy the best attacking players in the world, but what they don't realise is that they're defense is not that great and that's what they really need to improve. I really think Valencia should've taken the offer for Villa, where they would get Negredo plus 22 Million. Negredo is a class striker, as he's proven at Almeria this season, where he hardly had superb delivery but was their best performer.

Atletico should hopefully complete the signing of Sergio Asenjo soon. Spain have so many class goalies, but Asenjo is the pick of the younger ones.

Piss off before I call you Madrid Athletic :p

Apparently, Glenn Johnson is the best right back in the world according to Liverpool 606 fans.

?18m for Johnson is ridiculous!

Anyway, looks like we're after Ribery now regardless of what ZZ Top says. Someone said we should go for Essien from Chelsea; I agree. He'd be a magnificent player for us. If Tevez looks like going to Chelsea, I'd say 'no dice unless we get Essien in return'.

Tevez isn't your player.

Unfortunately that's right and I also think we've missed the boat when it comes to signing him; if I was him, the resentment would've just built up since the end of the season and the idea of leaving (even for a shambles like Man City) would be appealing. If he goes to City or Liverpool though, he won't get a nice reception back at Old Trafford.

Madrid Athletic? Hmmm. :p

Tevez should go imo. He's been useless all season. Even in the limited chances he's got. High workrate is useless if you don't score as far as I'm concerned.

Lol, Glen Johnson is good. But, his defensive ability is not that great, quite horrible actually. In comparison to the BEST right backs in the world.

Anyone seen the concrete rumour where Lisbon want to trade Moutinho for Nani? I think Man United should take it, Moutinho is a far better player than Nani. Consistent, and the perfect replacement for Scholes.

With United's transfer money, they really should go all out. What I would do is...

Transfers in: Moutinho (Lisbon), Marin (Gladbach), Benzema (Lyon), Valencia (Wigan).

Not a big fan of Valencia's but it seems realistic I guess. Marin's definetely leaving Gladbach, with Bremen appearing to be front-runners, but hopefully any scouts United have at the U-21 tourney going on right now spot him.

Something like...

Rooney - Benzema
Marin - Moutinho - Valencia
Carrick
Evra - Rio - Vidic - Rafael
Foster

That could work. The formation might be a wee bit too attacking however.

It's not quite your Tevez or Ribery news, but Everton have opened talks with Kyle Naughton after Sheffiled United accepted our ?5 million offer. I'm glad Moyes is looking at young English prospects and especially at a right back to replace Hibbert who's been the weak link in our side for a while now.

Rubbish is the way to describe your club.

Also while I too would like our defence strengthened (I know it will happen before the end of the summer), I have always realised we were never ever known to have very good defences. So not all that bothered anymore.

I dont mind missing out on Villa also now, if we get to keep Negredo.

5 goals in 29 league games last season. Berbatov is a better footballer than Tevez, no question about that, but I'd agree that we maybe need another striker in. Although Ferie has said that he expects Welbeck to be in England's world cup squad next summer, so who knows.;)

If he goes to Chelsea, I won't mind so much, if he goes to city however, he deserves all he gets at Old Trafford next season, which will be a fair bit.

It seems like a case of misleading stats then because I for one believe that Tevez is better than Berbatov. How many of those 29 games were starts?
