18. The stats don't lie.

Tevez will run all day but if we're going for that then we might as well do some scouting at the London marathon. Berbatov has got the technical ability. (I said this during the season as well before any of you states otherwise).

Tevez is a berk. He's been whining for about half a season about how United won't offer him a contract yet as soon as they finally do offer him when he rejects. Total wasteman.

Lazy or not, he's the better player. I'm not a fan of Berbatov's attitude, but he's a quality player. A lot of people labelled him as a flop last season because he didn't match his goal scoring efforts that he produced at Spurs but it's not always easy to score at the same kind of consistency when you join a better team. I'd put money on Berbatov scoring at least 20 next season.

He will obviously not outscore Tony Hibbert though.

And, Berbatov scored some very, very important goals for us. 1-0 at home to Boro, 1-0 last minute at Bolton etc. Yeah a bit more running wouldn't go a miss but he's got the technical ability which means he'll be a success. Therefore "Yes but Berbatov is the definition of lazyness." is a bit of a poor reason for Tevez being better, when the stats have already been pointed out.

He's not even that lazy!!! He runs around a lot more than people seem to think. I actually think the problem with him is that he goes too far back. Like when Utd start to attack, he'll only be on the half way line.

Looks like the credit crunch is getting to us.

Not sure we will buy anyone. If we have a buy back clause on Rossi maybe we would get him but I'm not sure he's suited to the premiership and we still need a winger,striker and a midfielder. The youngsters were alright last year but I wouldn't put that much faith in them.

We did actually offer the 25 million and 110k a week or whatever though, it's Tevez that's gone for the extra money by choosing the massives.

Ferie out. We'll get Valencia I reckon definitely, then apart from him, I'd say we'll get at least one more player.

If we don't spend much though it does prove what a bad financial situation we're in. 90 million from Ronaldo, the 25 million that we're supposed to get to spend a year (according to the Glazers, 25 million saved from not buying Tevez and 6 million from Campbell. We won't even spend all of the Ronaldo money.

Tevez isn't that big a loss. ?25m for effort? Plus, his situation is a little too complicated for me. I'm not a fan of having to answer to another individual when trying to sign a player. Saying that, losing both Ronaldo and Tevez at the same time is a massive blow.

Anyway, we've got our Vermaelen to hack down any of your strikers.

I am not that surprised he's gone; the relationship between him and us has obviously gone out of the window. It's annoying we don't get any money for him, he felt like our player because he'd been on loan for so long. Also, it's good of him to say he won't go to Liverpool, but Man City ain't much better, Carlos.

It just might prove a blessing in disguise: it might allow Rooney/Berbatov to really gel as a partnership (we all know Berbatov is capable of a lot more than he's showing us), but we do need another frontman in as cover; we can't always load the responsibility onto Macheda/Welbeck.

Above all though, we need a midfield general, a hardman like Keane (who we have never really replaced). And the team should now be built around Rooney. Get him off that bloody wing and stick him up front, just off Berbatov!

I personally think we need wingers and a striker. I thought we needed a winger before Ronaldo was leaving, now we probably need 2. Valencia would be a good signing, it's realistic but we need another if we do get him. Also we need a striker because we can't rely on the youngsters to be the 3rd striker.

Up front they need some who is quick. I mean really quick. Someone who will escape their target. Of course, pace is useless if you can't score so they'll need someone with a brilliant finish. Obviously, someone with these attributes won't come cheap.


Secondly they need someone in midfield. They have enough flair players so they need someone abrasive. United need someone who can be destructive midfield. Someone with a tough tackle.

That's my opinion anyway.

We need a Keano replacement above all else. That capitulation against Barcelona proved it.

I would like to see Benzema, Ashley Young and De Rossi. Not a Valencia fan myself.

I'm not too sure on Valencia yet myself, but I'm pretty sure that one's in the bag as far as Fergie's concerned.
