Football Transfers Thread

Newcastle have really done well in the transfer window, haven't they? Signed Cabaye, Ba, Marveux and Santon whilst selling Nolan, Barton and Enrique. Not to mention that Ben Arfa will be back soon and they made 35m out of Carroll!

The Santon transfer really came as a surprise. He's definitely a talented young full back. Will be interesting to see how he fares in the Premier League.

Add Gabriel Obertan's well. Awesome window it's been for them.

How is it vintage Wenger lol? He's 26 and South Korean captain. Hardly inexperienced. They've also signed Mertesacker who has 75 caps for Germany and Santos who's Brazil's first choice left back.

Not sure if he is really. Last i checked recent Brazillian coaches have been playing a bit of musical chairs with who should be the 1st choice left-back, with Santos, Bastos, Andriano Correia and Marcelo getting chances in that position over the past 18 months.

Santos is the preferred choice for the big games. I personally rate Bastos higher though.

Santos has been pretty mediocre whenever I've seen him. Bastos is good but looks uncomfortable playing there. Marcelo's clearly the best choice for the role but he's not exactly in the managment's good books.

And Davide Santon moving from Inter to Newcastle also falls into that category as well.

I think Christmas came early when I heard this. Seriously, I am quite happy now, as apparently we are in the running to get Macheda on loan as well. We've got the reserve, reserve keeper sorted out as well lol. I reckon if we can just get Macheda, I think we have a real chance of having a very strong season

Menezes seems to prefer Santos it seems. I agree with Auwais though - Marcelo is miles ahead of the rest. Really can't understand how he doesn't even get in the squad sometimes. Last season he was probably the best left back in the world.

edit: why don't he and the manager get on Auwais?

So Hargreaves has been out of the game on and off for around 3 years,, so really he needs to go play somewhere week in week out so he can prove he is still a top player.

So at what point does going to Man city being part of 400 centre midfielders help him do that???

Money Money Money :facepalm :facepalm

According to Menezes, he faked injury when he was called up to the squad for the friendly against Scotland a few months back.

But having said that, he's in the squad for their next friendly against Ghana. I guess Menezes can't take any chances after they flopped at the Copa America.

Anzhi make 87 mil euros bid for Hulk.

Seriously. WTF. This is going nuts. But on the brighter side Anzhi's owner has put up a great show for his club, heard all good things about him.
