RVP to Milan, that could be a possibility now.

Still, they need reinforcing, their recent additions are hardly enough.

No it won't. Milan need every cent and more to pay off the debt. Essentially they are conceding the title to Juventus. All they can really hope is to hold on to the likes of El Shaarawy and Robinho, while signing guys on loan and average players like Acerbi and Constant. Really the best they can do is hope to make a CL place. They will be on a similar level to Inter.

Shows what debt can do. I wouldn't be surprised if a similar thing happened to Man Utd soon.

Ye i've been thinking this for a while indeed. This i think is the underlying reasons why Ferguson hasn't bought big players in recent season and is focusing on player development.

I hope Ibra rejects the move though. Despite the money, its still playing in Ligue 1. Ofcourse Champions League is attractive enough. I don't like Milan but I think their situation is really sad for an institution of club football. Its like us having to sell Ronaldo and Casillas.

It again comes down to the TV revenue share, where we and Barca benefit financially. I think the distribution in Italy is more even.

If anyone is going to reject, it would be Thiago Silva I'd think. I get the vibe he likes Milan. Ibra wants titles and got one every single season except last season, which mustn't be something he likes. If you look back just a few years, Lyon won something like seven titles on the trot. This PSG team is far better and is still improving. He will get a title every year till he retires.

Really he would be a much better signing than RVP for Man City. RVP is good, but I reckon Ibra suits their system better as their forwards don't need the creativity RVP has, plus he is much better in the air. Overall he is far better than RVP too. Could do the job for Juve too.

Milan could survive without Thiago Silva, but really their attack would be completely toothless without Ibra. They'd better hope Pato isn't out injured most of the season again.

Regardless, that must be hundreds of thousands of Euros off the wage bill.

Oh and if Robin is leaving to only win titles and not wages he should go to Celtic or PSG :p.

Barcelona's Afellay offered to Arsenal & Inter - Goal.com

Holy crap, less than 5 m for him!!! Versatile, a flair player (we won't have any really if RVP leaves) and best friends with RVP, so he may even stay at Arsenal if Afellay signs (he wants his titles and money though so still unlikely unless we pay him 140-150 K a week at least).

I hope to hell goal.com is right, but I don't have high hopes as they're barely better than caughtoffside. Nevertheless, we've been linked to him all window, and really, this screams of VDV to Spurs, except minus the attitude.

Should have no problems at all beating Inter to his signature. If we want him, and Barca don't want him, he's ours really.

I read somewhere that Afellay wanted to stay and Barca were not interested in selling him......

RVP to Celtic, Hooper to Arsenal, this could be brilliant.:p

I read he was being offered to us and Spurs. Then Tito said he was very much part of his plans, and Afellay said he wanted to stay. Really though it makes sense if he wants to go. Even the likes of Tello and Cuenca are ahead of him in the pecking order, plus David Villa is returning... He won't want to be on the bench, and is not of much use to Barca. They clearly can't afford Javi Martinez anyway and need to sell some guys quick to raise some money, hence the cut price.

Very possible RVP had a chat with him at the Euros too and changed his mind.

What Sigurdsson said was absolutely true. Spurs are miles ahead of us ATM. Sad but true.

Borini for 13m euros is a little overpriced imo, but when you look at the likes of Downing & Henderson, this deal sounds like a bargain.

I feel that the same thing was said for Downing at the start of the season.

Borini is young though. Even if he fails Pool can still recover a somewhat decent fee, and he will improve anyway.

Anyway, Pool need to make some risky signings. It's how Spurs got to where they are now, and they were in a far worse position than Pool are now. Pool are a far bigger club than Spurs ever will be as well as well, so I can see signings like these eventually paying off.

If anything, even if he doesn't succeed, it'll be a good signing in that Carroll will have far less pressure on him which can only be good. He will be a decent player one day, though right now he isn't close.

Fabio Borini arriving at the Melwood training complex in Liverpool. Hearing we've secured him for just 10m euros, opposed to earlier reports claiming 13m. A bargain signing in that case!
