Everton should so try to get Hargreaves on a pay as you play contract to be honest.

Missed that somehow. :facepalm

The 29-year-old has been rumoured to be having a medical at a Manchester hospital in the next few days. Red Devils boss Sir Alex Ferguson has admitted a deal is taking place but stated he was unclear on what Arsenal or Van Persie?s reaction is to a move to Old Trafford.

Hmmm, once rumours of medicals start appearing, things often happen don't they? Not always of course. I would love RvP to pair up with Rooney! No.7 shirt for RvP if he does sign. :)

Van Persie apparently made a statement demanding ?220,000-a-week wherever he decides to play his football. If debt ridden Manchester United agree these demands this will match Wayne Rooney?s deal which will mean the club will be playing near on a half a million on just two players every week.

Manchester United are a club who cant afford to pay ?ridiculous? sums of money, with the current financial situation of the club it is only a matter of time before United find themselves in serious trouble unless United decide to sell.

For me, that is the most sensible reason out of the five as to why he shouldn't be signed. Berbatov's going, that's clear. ?20m for a player of RvP's class and one in his prime isn't too much. The Hernadnez/Welbeck question is a tricky one though. They'd end up being backup on the bench and neither will be happy with that.
According to the Polish source One.Pl, Manchester United have made a transfer bid worth ?23.6 million for the Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski.

Xabi does want to quit Real Madrid, according to reports.

But if it does occur, it ends the chances of Sahin going out on loan.

De Jong's contract ends at the end of the season, so Rodwell must be a replacement for him, and a good one. I don't see any reason why he would stay another season after this one.

Don't think Rodwell's the kind of CM Mancini himself wanted though, he wants De Rossi and Rodwell doesn't come close. He clearly doesn't have much of an interest in nurturing young talent either, so perhaps someone else high up at City wanted the deal?

Also heard Raphael Honigstein saying Sahin will go to a PL club by the end of the week, and that he doesn't like Spurs. Arsenal is definitely the most likely destination, so would be great to have him with a buy option. Don't want him without the buy option though. Still, this hinges on whether Modric goes through as well, hopefully that's done by the end of the week.

I don't believe this talk of Xabi Alonso leaving tbh. Even if he does want to leave, is it really going to happen this window... Can't see anyone but City or Chelsea going after him, Mourinho certainly wouldn't let him go cheap, and he surely would want to go to Liverpool.

definitely.

but i'm not really sure pay as you play contracts even exist at the top level.

perhaps heavily appearance/performance bonus weighted, but even then someone somewhere will give him a decent weekly wage.

We're being linked with M'biaye Niang. Definitely the type of player we should be going for.

Sir Alex's going to speak personally to Wenger about RvP. It'll probably go something like this:

Wenger: No, I won't sell to you!

Sir Alex (Backs Wenger into a corner) - Sell him otherwise I'll gi' ye a Glasgow Kiss'!

Wenger: Eugggh, get away from me!

Sir Alex: It's no' that kinda kiss!

:D:D:D

(For those who don't know, a 'Glasgow Kiss' is pretty much the exact opposite of what a kiss really should be. Generally, it involves 'kissing' the other guy by aiming your forehead at them with great velocity. Best results are probably to be had by applying the 'kiss' to the other guy's nose. ;) )

Apparently Xabi Alonso has more than convinced Nuri Sahin to join Liverpool over Arsenal, from what Guillaum Ballague and Macca have been saying. What. A. Man. :)

Sahin - Lucas - Allen at midfield and Gerrard upfront with Suarez and Borini in a 4-3-3 = ORGASM.

As for Xabi himself turning down a new contract at Real, it's fairly evident that he wants to fulfill his contract with Real (which runs until 2014), before joining Liverpool on a free transfer. Think that's definitely happening in the future. :)

Well it was widely reported he had a pay as you play contract at City.

M'Baye Niang is good, but he won't add much to you now. Only 17, and he wasn't exactly Caen's best striker last season. Has a huge future ahead of him, but really I reckon the 5 m+ you'll have to pay for him will be better spent elsewhere.

He's already had a trial with us anyway so I'm sure he'd prefer Arsenal over Everton if given the choice.

Niang is young and can do a job out wide too. we play with on centre forward, jelavic. and we won't be buying someone to play ahead of him.

We still need a winger (but if we sign him we may be able to make do by rotating the wide players) and centre mid cover

but our midfield currently looks something like

-------Gibson---- fellaini------
osman-----naismith--------pienaar

Weak link is osman on the wing, but he will do a job and will get time in the middle with naismith able to play out wide too. With coleman and gueye as back ups (with anichebe at a very large stretch) we can rotate around. Ideally we'd buy a quality first choice RM. but we don't really have that money, considering we need striking cover and central midfield cover too.

A 17 year old who can add cover two of those spots is ideal really for how we have to build.

Think you're overestimating his quality a lot here. This guy is very raw, he should be on loan for sure in his first season.

At this point in time, the best you can say of him is that he is perhaps the next big striker in French football. Not of Premier League quality yet, and definitely not for a team like Everton. Not even good enough as a back-up.

The winger should be your priority. 5 m+ is very steep considering you don't even buy guys ten years older than Niang for much more than that.

Unless I see quotes, that is just a load of crap. CL is clearly very important to him, if it wasn't, the Modric deal would've been finalised at least a week ago with Sahin going the other way. The club are begging him to go to Spurs, and Spurs are just as attractive if not far more attractive than Liverpool.

Plus, is Liverpool's interest really concrete, or is all just based off Rodgers saying he wants players on loan from overseas?

If it's a loan, it's Liverpool, Galatasaray or Spurs if anyone. If it's a loan with buy option, it's Arsenal. If it's a straight sale, it's Man Utd.

A guy close to Arsenal (the first guy to break the Cazorla to Arsenal news) has said that RVP is likely to join United.

What the hell is going on...

This's all I got at the moment regarding Tello and Sahin:

But an interesting twist has developed in this story because it seems as though Xabi Alonso has convinced Sahin to move to Liverpool and now it will be a matter of negotiating that loan deal

Again - it's an on-going situation. Nothing has been sorted yet but Alonso's work has been very helpful for Liverpool!

Aquilani....

Not like we gave him a chance to prove his worth while he was fit anyway. Hodgson loaned him out to Juve, while Kenny to Milan. He's a classy midfielder in my books, just a shame he's made of glass. Bet it won't be long before he's in national colors again.

Love it when I'm right! He's starting tomorrow against England. :)
