Football Transfers Thread

Disappointed Berbatov left. Always liked him and he should have started more games last season. A true professional and hopefully he excels at Fulham.

I think he might have joined the wrong club - they got thrashed today by West Ham.

To be fair Fulham played some decent football as they have done in the first couple of games.

Fulham are a good team, let's not forget they finished level on points with Liverpool. Very good mid-table club.

Yeah pretty shocked as well. These signings more or less signal a big "kerpluck-off" to Michele Platini's FFP plans, which's sad.

Btw I'd recommend you lot to stop following ESPN Soccernet when it comes to transfer rumors. Just as bad as goal.com. Their news coverage over the transfer window was just utter bollox.

Skysports and BBC pretty much the only sites I pay heed to, regarding transfer news nowadays.

Also saw this fact yesterday: Porto have made a net profit of over 900 million (pounds) over the last 10 years. They signed Lisandro Lopez, Hulk and Falcao for a combined fee of just 11.73m euros and sold them for 114m euros!

Edit: Benfica too!

There are rumors that cristiano ronado not happy with the club and could make a sensational return to premier league :D

Bigger reps to Porto as they win the league consistently while doing it. They also won the Europa League and Champions League in the last ten years.

Selling clubs can be successful;).

van der Wiel got a good deal, he may have the skill to succeed at a top European club, but his attitude is meant to be terrible, so PSG is a good move for him.

Hulk and Witsel... Gotta feel sorry for them. Heavily linked with Chelsea and Man Utd respectively, then they go to Zenit:rolleyes. Hopefully the Zenit fans consider them white enough to not racially abuse them. Terrible fans.

Michael Owen joins Stoke on a one year deal. Bet it wont be long before he injures himself while training, given the nature of football (rugby) Stoke portray.

Slightly gutted we tossed up the chance to sign him though, considering he was easily the best striker available from that free agents list, not to mention his "pay as you play" wage clause seemed ideal too.

For real??? (Yahoo)
The Red Devils boss told Inside United that he will happily give the Jamaican sprint legend his chance to take to the field in the club's annual charity clash against the Spanish giants next year.
And Fergie left open the tantalising possibility that if Bolt acquits himself well enough, there may be a chance for him to take his ambition of playing for the side further.
"Usain's a character and a big United fan," Ferguson said, "It's interesting he says he'd like to play in a charity game.
"It could be brilliant, and next year when we play Real Madrid's Legends again, there could be opportunities to bring him up and see how he does."
Bolt has always maintained that he would love to play football for United, and is certainly confident in his ability.
"I would not take up the challenge if I didn't think I was good enough," he said recently. "I am a very accomplished player and know I could make a difference.
"People think I am joking. But if Alex Ferguson called me up and said, ?OK let's do this, come and have a trial', it would be impossible for me to say no."
Bolt recently spent the day as guest of honour at Old Trafford, being presented to fans on the pitch and meeting not just Ferguson, but also club legends Bobby Charlton, Ryan Giggs and Wayne Rooney.

Sir Alex is going to play Usain Bolt in a friendly - today isn't April 1st or anything, is it? :D

Its a classic PR stunt, gives the game a lot of interest and chance to gain revenue from it, not like he's actually looking to sign him..

Liverpool, el mejor colocado para poder fichar a Llorente - Los fichajes de Manolete - AS.com

:facepalm:eek::D

Each of those smileys for obvious reasons....

Maybe it's possible, but last I heard, West Ham can trigger Carroll's release clause if they want to, even if Liverpool want to keep him. They'd be stupid not to IMO, he is the perfect striker for their system.

Liverpool with Ba would be a very good team though.

Plus it's Daily Star anyway.
