Football Transfers Thread

Dont see Cole moving. And same case with Evra. Ferguson likes him too much to sell him regardless of his form

Easy stuff really. Sell Evra buy Cole. Instant upgrade. Some French team or lower PL team will surely take him.

Problem solved.

Think Evra has been playing better in recent times, so if continues on this path, i t would be hard for Ferguson to sell him. Especially when he captains the team in Vidic's regular absence.

Sneijder situation shows Inter's self-destructive side - ESPN FC

Following this situation with Sneijder & i started to think of major clubs throughout europe who could use a player like him.

Right away Liverpool comes to mind. If the fenway company is willing to spend on him & maybe go for Demba Ba on his 7.5 mil contract clause from newcaste - this XI would look nice:

Reina

Johnson Skrtel Agger Enrique

Gerrard Lucas Allen

Sneijder

Suarez Ba

The thing is right now he's making something around ?250k a week and is refusing to take the 30% pay cut at Inter, what makes you think he'd be willing to take the pay cut and play for Liverpool(unless you're suggesting that Liverpool offer him wages somewhere in the region of 250k)?

Yea that what i mean, if the fenway group that owns liverpool that is being conservative with spending now, would be willing to change policy & spend big on him, even with those wages.

Haha ye i know its unlikely to happen, just thinking how such a team might look.

A move to United might be on the cards, but I don't know how that would work tbh, they've already got 2 world class players fighting it out for that position(Rooney and Kagawa) and a couple of others who would prefer to play up there(Cleverley and Anderson) as well.

His form is a big worry for any club that's willing to pay a big transfer fee and a monstrous weekly wage. 2 years ago he could've moved to just about anywhere and probably started a week in, but now, things are very different, he hasn't played since September and according to the Inter manager it has nothing to do with the contract dispute.

Don't see a 30+ year old prospering much, maybe getting a final pay day, as good as Cole is he isn't gonna get any better now :facepalm

Agreed - had it happened five or six years back, that would've been different, but he's past his prime now. I'd still welcome a move to Utd for him though: anyone who routinely keeps Ronaldo in his back pocket whenever he plays him is worth signing. :)

Sounds like Hernandez might be leaving, and Sir Alex is supposed to have said we're not signing anyone in January. :facepalm It's so blatantly obvious that we need more defensive strength in midfield!

Hmm well at the start of the season i'd say yea, but i think SAF is right to say united don't need to sign anybody. The only time united's mid-field looks soft is when he incorrectly plays scholes/carrick or giggs together.

But in the games Carrick/Cleverley has started they have looked pretty solid. Once Fletcher gets back fully fit, Jones can play in the center & Anderson has good energy - united are pretty much covered.

Jones has been solid since he came back. Vidic is back and hope he only gets better. Jones is decent in the deep mid position too. Having Nani, Kagawa, Anderson and Evans back would bring a solid restoration to the balance. Just look at the team on paper, a deadly attack.

Don't expect Sneijder to join, unless his situation at Inter worsens and Sir Alex sees a real deal in it. How about a Hargreaves return :p Unless he cracks a bone or two he's a good cover to Scholes/Carrick.

One other thing: if Sterling becomes available, we must bid for him. To not do so, and have him end up with Man City for fifteen years, will be something we could regret. Remember Joe Hart? We could've had him from Shrewsbury or somewhere - for a snip! And we all know where the title would've gone last year if Hart had been a Utd player. ;)
