Where's Bigirimana (spellcheck)? Thought he was alright in the games he did start.

He is basically a young Tiote (hair-style included) Like Bevab said, he needs a few years to develop, but he has a lot of potential and has done an excellent job when thrust into the starting XI this season.

How do you think Anita is adjusting to the league, Tom?

I remember when I was watching him a lot at the start of the season he was pretty bad.

Yeah, at the beginning of the season he was terrible and I was thinking who is this guy!!!?? Yet, since about November he has massively kicked on and become a senior figure with both Cabaye and Tiote absent. He might be small, but he puts in a bloody hard tackle, and he is always at the centre of things when it is happening. Very impressed with his performances so far :)

That is a very good side but still some holes. Ben Arfa is very inconsistent, Gutierrez isn't top notch, Tiote is the usual loose cannon, Cisse doesn't look like he can score on a regular basis and the defence don't seem to work all that well as a unit. It's a good side on paper but over a whole Premier League season that team would be mid-table, 6th or 7th at best.

I think you are being a tad harsh on Ben Arfa there. Up until he got injured he was our go to man for that creative spark. Him and Cabaye are the two players who make us tick for those magic moments. Guiterrez does a decent job, he is getting on a bit though, in the next year or two we need to think about his replacement. No argument about Tiote :p he has begun to calm it down. Cisse is just suffering from the fact that him and Ba seemed to be poisonous for each other. He should have had 2 goals against Reading, except Federichi seemed to be on something, with some of the saves he made.

The defence has struggled this season, because of the amount of injuries have made it a rotating door policy. If those 4 can get settled with games under their belt, they would sure themselves up.

I do agree that team is looking at 5th/6th/7th at best, which is why I was saying earlier, if teams like ourselves or Everton can get a few more quality players in, we could potentially challenge top 4.

Speaking of Newcastle, I was at Carrow Road for the Norwich v Newcastle game it is comfortably the worst game of football I have ever seen.

I watched it online as well. It was like a competition of who can look the most nervous. Painful stuff.

Newcastle close on Massadio Haidara as Nancy accept offer for defender | Newcastle United, Fixtures, Results, Transfers | Sky Sports

I would be very happy to play there. My preference is England. It is the league which attracts me the most and would suit my game the best.

Newcastle United lodge bid for Nancy full-back Massadio Haidara | Football News | Sky Sports

I prefer Roma to Newcastle, as I prefer Serie A. I'd love to play in Italy, though Newcastle are also a good team.

Football's such a lie lol

The entire press is basically nothing more than an illusion.

In fact, most of the modern world is nothing more than ghosts. Images and representations of things that have never been said, or never been seen. Yet if you have enough control over the correct outputs and deliver it without enough conviction enough people will believe it and it becomes "true."

It's a funny old game... and world.

Sounds a bit like someone's been reading a bit too many tabloids.

There's a rumour that Utd are going to move for Victor Valdes, who isn't going to sign a new contract at Barcelona. The rumour's from The Telegraph so it's got a bit more substance to it than if it was from the Sun or something. ;)

Valdes is awful. Worse than De Gea and without the potential. Experienced though so perhaps he's better than Lindegaard as someone to compete with De Gea.

Or like someone who has studied literature from the last 500 years and is mildly aware of the nature of the written beast ;) I generally avoid most papers these days, they all have their own self interests to push.

There's still some good journalism out there, but really most of it is just tabloid rubbish dressed up in different ink. Football journalism is up there as some of the poorest examples available as well. Entire 10 page sections based on nothing resembling facts. If there's no interesting news stories, which is pretty often, make them up :p

Agreed. That problem is a lot more obvious in Britain though, The Sun and The Daily Mirror are awful excuses for newspapers.

I don't believe a single bit of football journalism wholeheartedly, and rightfully so. Half the stuff looks like rubbish the guys at The Sun came up with on their --- breaks:p.

Perhaps if we are going for a new keeper, we should look for a solid proven Premiership stopper - or just stick with De Gea. There's no point going for someone worse than him, and older to boot.

It's so frustrating - his shot stopping is amazing, some of the best I've ever seen! If he can just iron out the niggles with coming for/punching crosses.

Anything printed by The Sun/Mirror/Star or any number of our wonderful tabloids is something I have a chuckle about, but I don't take it in the least bit seriously.

Very true that it's far more pronounced in England. If I ever catch some random streams of English games from abroad (particularly Dutch ones), if they're actually talking English of course, they're far more insightful. To be fair to Gary Neville, he is a breath of fresh air in punditry terms, but I'd like to see a lot more fully qualified coaches with Tv personality involved, rather than just big names who don't know what they're talking about.

While the mirror is indeed tabloid, they have two of the better football journalist i would say in the country.

Olly Holt has been pretty solid for years & darren lewis (one of the few black football journalist of note in this country) who regularly features on skysports news in morning giving a run down on the sports headlines is pretty good too.

Did Newcastle stumble across Wenger's early blueprints from when he took charge at Arsenal???

This is just getting out of hand now, Moussa Sissoko is going to sign a pre-contract agreement with Newcastle as well. Do they know there are countries other than France?

Three Frenchmen in three days. Could've been four if Remy worked out.
