Football Transfers Thread

France has worked for us in the past. Ben Arfa, Cabaye and Marveaux are prime examples of this. With our scout network I can see these 3 all being great signings. We are basically going to be the new Arsenal...except we will be far more successful.

Vive le Toon!

P.S. Theoretically 7 of our 1XI now speak French lol

While the mirror is indeed tabloid, they have two of the better football journalist i would say in the country.

Olly Holt has been pretty solid for years & darren lewis (one of the few black football journalist of note in this country) who regularly features on skysports news in morning giving a run down on the sports headlines is pretty good too.

Darren Lewis is a mumbling fool on his slot in the mornings on talk sport, it's actually hilarious listening to him, gets himself so confused all the time talking about wrong players for wrong teams.. Poor. But funny

Could be a good journalist though as he gets to spell check.

This is just getting out of hand now, Moussa Sissoko is going to sign a pre-contract agreement with Newcastle as well. Do they know there are countries other than France?

Three Frenchmen in three days. Could've been four if Remy worked out.

What happened to Haidara?

Cabaye, Debuchy, Ben Arfa, Amalfitano, Obertan, Marveaux, M'Biwa, Haidara, Gouffran. Sissoko looking likely too. Should move to Ligue 1.

There are plenty of cut-price gems abroad if you're not a close-minded British manager like O'Neil or Pulis, who prefer spunking stupid money on over-priced British talent.

I wouldn't exactly call Newcastle open minded, they've literally bought from one country haha

Haha ye - with this move the amount of english players in league now may drop under 30 % :lol:facepalm

Ha well nah never heard him on talk sport, so i don't know that side of him. Just frequently see him on skysports in the morning i don't think he is bad.

Moussa Sissoko appears to be on the verge of completing a move to Newcastle | Football News | Sky Sports

Toulouse's official site:

"Moussa Sissoko has agreed with Newcastle United for a definitive transfer, that takes effect today.

All the club wishes him continued success in his career."

Alan Pardeaux strikes again! 2.5M the reported fee! Hell of a bargain in that case!

That's ten French players in their squad at the moment. One player away from unveiling their new home kit:

Stuttgart have signed Federico Macheda on loan from Manchester United | Manchester United News, Fixtures, Results, Transfers | Sky Sports

From an Azzurri perspective, hope it works out well for him.

Probably. Don't exactly know where Brendan will play him though, considering he can play as a striker, as a winger on both the flanks and behind the striker as well. Me thinks BR will opt for the last option:

Suarez - Sturridge - Sterling/Downing
-----------Coutinho----------
-----Gerrard-----Lucas---------

Or maybe just continue playing Suarez behind Sturridge and employ Coutinho on the flanks.

Either way, can't see him as a nailed on starter right from the word go though, especially given Henderson's outstanding form of late. Reckon it'll take time for him to settle.
