Football Transfers Thread

Exactly. Useless for Liverpool was what I meant in my previous post. His passion for the game is all I like about him tbh.

Probably. Don't exactly know where Brendan will play him though, considering he can play as a striker, as a winger on both the flanks and behind the striker as well. Me thinks BR will opt for the last option:

Suarez - Sturridge - Sterling/Downing
-----------Coutinho----------
-----Gerrard-----Lucas---------

Or maybe just continue playing Suarez behind Sturridge and employ Coutinho on the flanks.

Either way, can't see him as a nailed on starter right from the word go though, especially given Henderson's outstanding form of late. Reckon it'll take time for him to settle.

Ofc, he's still very young, so time's on his side.

Balotelli set for Milan switch - ESPN FC

Looks like this Balotelli to AC Milan deal is done with, still don't know why we're selling someone in January, especially for cash that will only be payed in very small installments...

Whatever though, let's go Guidetti. :D

Anyone else glad Ballotelli is off?

I like all the bad boy stuff, and some of the story's I've heard about him driving through Manchester in his Ferrari handing out money, love it.

But when it comes down to football I think he is pants, I honestly don't see anything to think he is good enough to play for the Champions, alright I've seen him have some good games but 90% of the time he has been poor

So good move city :thumbs

He was good last season, really sad to see him go, one of my favourite characters in all of football.

Balotelli is big talent, it was only last summer he was doing big in the euro's. But as soon as he returned the british media would jump on every little thing he did.

Fully expect him to do well for milan & italy in future. Might even score a big goal vs england one day and shut up some in our media.

BBC Sport - QPR target Peter Crouch and Christopher Samba signings

Would love to see samba back, was disappointed no big of mid table prem clubs didn't go for him last jan transfer window, which resulted him going off to russia.

Nah. He provides a lot of entertainment. I see your point about him not being good enough, but I think he certainly has the talent, it's more that he isn't consistent enough. He is certainly capable of playing for a top class side on any given day. But not for enough days in a year. So I guess it depends on the criteria for good.

Balotelli and El Shaarawy could potentially be a lethal forward combination for Milan.

I did like Balotelli a lot due to the crazy stories, but when it turned out most of them weren't actually true I started to think he's really just another talented footballer who lives in a bubble completely isolated from the real world.

Performances this season have not delivered anywhere near enough goals for someone who doesn't create anything, and I think he'll score a bucketload of goals for Milan. Decent deal allround.

And the fer transfer deal has collapsed because we wanted to pay too much on the never never.

classic everton.

To be fair hasn't he failed his medical so Everton are a bit reluctant to spend their entire transfer budget on someone who might get injured?

Twente being so desperate for the cash in one does hint at the fact they're maybe worried they won't end up getting it all if he breaks down.

He didn't fail the medical as such, it just highlighted a potential problem so we wanted to make the fee based more heavily on appearances. Sort of the like the Ba thing I guess. So if he does get crocked we don't lose as much money.

Probably being overcautious due to the fact we don't really have any money and it would have really stretched the resources
