Football Transfers Thread

Someone more mature than him like Cesar playing ahead of him won't hurt him one bit.

The rumour is that Sir Alex is looking to sign Begovic in the summer. I know Cesar's older, but I'd rather see him at Old Trafford. De Gea will probably be a great keeper, but I don't know if he can handle the pressure of being Utd's No.1 right now.

Begovic would make a lot of sense considering a) He's quality enough for a powerhouse like Man Utd and b) Stoke just signed England's future prospect in Jack Butland for 5m, who has been loaned back to Birmingham for the reminder of the season.

Mistakes from Reina and Hart... again. But of course De Gea is still the one who gets slated.

Reina's was a real clanger - just what was he thinking? Didn't think De Gea had a bad game against Fulham - he made a few important saves. Hart is looking worryingly error-prone at the moment - worryingly for England that is. He can make all the mistakes he likes for City. :D

I like his honesty there. I think we all know that Butland wanted football, so stoke signing him and loaning him out is exactly what it looks like.

I'd absolute love us to sign him as Howard is no longer good enough for where we are aiming to be. No chance of us getting him though, realistically. Slight chance if we get to spend the mjority of the fellaini money I guess.

Bayern or Juve would be my best bets.

Also thought he looked like Pablo Hernandez in that very pic from the article. :p

Most probably Bayern, but he likes the Premier League a bit, so I wouldn't rule a move to there too.

Isn't Llorente going to Juve?

Pretty sure they won't sign both.

Yes he has agreed on a pre-contract with Juve, and will sign on a free officially on July 1, 2013.

That's not it though. Juve's strikers this season have been mediocre and have come under heavy criticism. The likes of Quagliarella, Matri and Vucinic are all rumored with summer exits. Their straw-clutchy signing of Nicolas Anelka only highlights their striker associated problems further.

Can see them going out and out for Jovetic and one more striker - Lewandoski/Suarez/Lisandro Lopez this summer.

Probable new look Juve strike force this summer:

Jovetic
Llorente
Lewandowski/Suarez/Lisandro
Giovinco

OUT:

Anelka
Quagliarella
Matri
Vucinic

What I don't get is his desire to leave, I mean, Dortmund are one the best teams in the world...

And here I thought Juve were poor...

I doubt whether Juventus would replace their entire strike force literally.

@ Epic: Just another confused player. Either he's pushing a move to Bayern, or is really confused.

And here I thought Juve were poor...

They're definitely one of the richer sides in Europe, generating healthy revenues courtesy of their own Juventus stadium, but annually restrict themselves to a net spend of around 15M.

Marrotta is a genius though - Pogba (free), Pirlo (free), Vidal (10M) were all day light robberies!
