General Questions Thread

Expenditure - The real thing that can upset your economy...

How all can you lose money then?

Ground Maintainence - 7740 for a noob, basically it is not that big... and usually ground maintainence charges are made up byt the home matches... I pay 59,724 but receive 280k in gate receipts. So basically it is the best way to raise money, especially if you are planning to save money.

Salaries - This is the part that noobs have to take great care of. This amount is directly proportional to the number of players that you have. I would advice a squad size of 14 to 18 depending on your league difficulty. If you have an easy league and TIE most of the games, i would go with 14 because you hardly need to rest guys. Buying a mediocre for 1k might seem cheap but you pay 450 in salaries every week and in BT every penny counts.

Interest - I think its always 0 unless maybe you are in debt? I never went to debt so i dont know.

Miscellaneous - Includes all player purchases... All that i can say is control your expenses.

Staff costs - somethng that eats your finances unknowingly :p would recommend this setup to newbies

10 coaches
4-6 FAs
4-6 SPs
4-6 PRs

firing and hiring costs, remember that...

Youth Academy - one of the biggest gamgble in battrick. If you have 0 Its start investing from week 8 onwards so that you have exactly 100 at the start of the season.

Basically that covers the expense. If you were wonderign that having a decent squd and large ground can ruin your economy then here is my expense:

Ground Maintenance: 59,724
Salaries: 26,540
Interest: 0
Miscellaneous: 0
Staff Costs: 59,500
Youth Academy: 0

Total Expenditure: 145,764

As you can see, i have 3 0's and have 20k loss without a match. Not bad for a decent squad and a large ground?

Assassins XI:

Expenditure:
Ground Maintenance: 46,433
Salaries: 42,615
Interest: 0
Miscellaneous: 0
Staff Costs: 46,000
Youth Academy: 0

Total Expenditure: 135,048

Er umm, basically less than mine and he has a better squad, smaller ground and probably the appropriate number of coaches.

gate receipts: 183532 on a happy morale.

[ I think i have gone wrong somewhere  ]

On a healthier note, I had a few easy seasons, so i concentrated on my ground rather than on my squad, thus i can survive financially now. So indirectly it yet again goes to your league difficulty...

Next up: Your Ground

just to correct a bit.
with sold out stadium on full members confidence i got
08/06/2007 Played a match and received £220915 in gate receipts.

Financial Advice - Part III - The Ground

Something that really baffles newbies and some of the older teams...

1. Information:

Why is it necessary to have a proper ground? Basically it is the best way to earn a lot of cash. Ofcourse selling your best player also can earn a lot of cash. But trust me this is better :p.

2. When to upgrade

The simple answer is - when you have full houses. In other words, it depends on your league difficulty. If you have a very easy league and you are sure that you can get members every week go for a club members X 16-18 option in the stadium calculator. If you have an okay league go for Club members X 12-14. If you are in Zoraxs situation. Leave it as it is. Make sure you upgrade before the dry spell [Refer: http://www.battrick.org/nl/threads.asp?threadID=40312&listFromT=0.

3. Advantages

1) You get a lot of money
2) A good indication as to how long you have been playing the game [ :p ]

4. Disadvantages

1) The maintainence charge can kill you during the dry spell and off season
2) You tend to pay a lot to put up a big ground, which could have helped to make your squad better

NOTE: Never buy players and upgrade ground before the dry spell. Make sure you have enough money to last through the dry spell

Just what I was looking for Voldy. I should be fine cash wise being well over a mill and getting 70k+ from interest alone when I finally upgrade my stadium.
